I'm sure this has been asked many times but unfortunately my search in the forum has been unsuccessful.
Using SMF 1.1.10 and TP 1.0 Beta. I'd like to display some type of blogs for the 3 admins in the bottom panel blocks. I thought I could do it with articles. I created a category called "Admin blogs" where each admin will keep only 1 article. Then in the bottom blocks I created one block to show articles from this category.

As you can see at the bottom of my test site I have 2 articles right now but I only see the link to it. Is there any way I can show the content of 3 articles in one block ?
You could change it from articles to use forum posts instead.
Set one board as your blog board and then create a block that show forum posts from that board.
Good idea G6. I'm gonna play with that and see if I can make it work the way I want.
Thanks !
It's not something I would put in as a request but in a future version it would be nice in the "Articles in a Category" block type to be able to specify to show x lines per article.
I don't know if there's something I'm not seeing in the portal or not understanding in G6's post but I can't find a way to show the posts from a specific board in a block.
You set your frontpage to display news from the forum. Then you select the board you want news to come from in the frontpage settings.
Won't that display them in the front panel ? I still wouldn't be able to put them in the bottom panel blocks.
Maybe I'm trying to rely too much on portal features here. It would probably be best and maybe even easier to simply do it with a bit of php code in the bottom block.
I think several solutions are discussed here..but the initial request was multiple articles in a block - but not using the article listing block(which show only links)?
The article block is meant for just one article, and I don't see that changing since it shows it in full.It serves a specific purpose. But having a small preview in the listing block might be useful.
Right now you could make 3 article blocks though, placed after each other and remove the title/frame if you wish, to make them appear continuous.
I thought of the 3 blocks but hiding the title and frame didn't occur to me. I'm gonna try that.
Thanks to all 3 of you for the suggestions.
I really like the new version, the multiple columns and the bottom, top, upper and lower blocks are great, it gives us a lot of flexibility.
