First let me say i do apologize if it isn't the place to ask and if it been asked/answered a billion times but i ran in to a bit of a problem and i really don't want to search every part of the forum and the "search" button...well nothing, sorry.... anyway let me first use the format required and try to get in to details :]
Link to my site: http://echo.host22.com/index.php
SMF version: 1.1.10
TP version: TinyPortal v1.0 beta 4
Theme name and version: Actualism
Related Error messages:
Not really an error, is just that i have no idea of what i'm doing, anyway i was wondering if anyone could explain it to me how to add a link from my TinyPortal to the Forum, in the navbar.
Exactly like is done in here and in this forum: http://www.jpr62.com/theme/
See the Home | Forum | Help .... i checked around but couldn't find anything and is the first time i use this "mod", i want to have the news in the center of the TP (Already have them, is just member only) so i only miss the Forum link in the navbar :[
Again i do apologize if i made any mistake of where and how i should of posted this and thanks to any answers i get.
Note - If i don't answer then i'm probably sleeping on my keyboard, this should make a good excuse to every spelling mistake i do to
Thanks.
Take a look here: How to add a Home button or a new tab? (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=30)
It is not exact for your theme but it provides the basic knowledge as to how to do it and you can then look at your theme and follow the same concept.
Hi Rennd,
Welcome to TinyPortal.
Actually the Actualism theme (no pun intended) has a Forum button already built into it if you installed the correct theme for your version of TinyPortal. What was the name of the file you downloaded and did you download it from here or from the SMF site?
ZarPrime
ZarPrime - Both TP and Actualism come from here and Crip forums
Renegd98 - Thanks :D I'll check the thread out and see if i can do anything xD
Ok so i did it, i added the button, i made it link to the forum but is still named like the Home button i copy pasted and changed, here is the code for the buttons:
// Show the [home] button.
echo '<li', $current_action == 'home' ? ' class="current"' : '', '><a href="', $scripturl, '"><span>' , $txt[103] , '</span></a></li>';
// Show the [forum] button.
echo '<li', $current_action == 'forum' ? ' class="current"' : '', '><a href="', $scripturl, '?action=forum"><span>' , $txt[tp-forum] , '</span></a></li>';
// Show the [help] button.
echo '<li', $current_action == 'help' ? ' class="current"' : '', '><a href="', $scripturl, '?action=help"><span>' , $txt[119] , '</span></a></li>';
I noticed the $txt[tp-forum] or [103]...etc is doing the name change but tp-forum is not helping(i get a blank button and really small) and if i leave it 103 it will look like Home button :[
Never mind, i notice my mistake, when i used $txt[tp-forum] i was actually suppose to add the tp-forum between ' ' looking like $txt['tp-forum'] my bad ^^
Thanks you 2 for all the help given ^_^
Good job Rennd. :up:
Marked as solved.
