My suggestion would be to place all forum related into your www.yoursite/forum/ folder. Forum could be anything you choose. That way when going to your site at www.your site the flash will play. I know you state you don't want that but in that case you might use a timed redirect.

So you should create an article and put your flash code into it. Then set your frontpage display settings to only show that article with no blocks/panels etc. It won't even show the header and stuff for SMF. From that flash article you can link to your forum.

1. Create an article.
2. Put your code in it for the flash page.
3. In article settings turn off all features you do not want to display, and set article to featured.
4. Turn frontpage settings to only show featured article with frontpage blocks. If you have no frontpage blocks on, you will only show the article that has your flash. Turn off all panels and blocks in frontpage settings.

Don't be afraid to explore the settings that TP has to offer you.

You could alos use the .htaccess to control what gets displayed as the default page for the main directory.

Simple Portal is another portal for SMF. If you want to use it or get more information about it, you'll need to go to the Simple Portal site.

Tiny Portal can do what you want, but you need to take the initiative to explore what TP can do for you. If you want to know what something does, try it and see what happens. You'll learn a whole lot more than if someone just comes in and does it for you.
