I have found that the search in download manager searches titles only and not the description.

This is strange - on my testsite the search will also make hits from the description - provided you check "description" that is. Have you done that?

Here's how you can see the problem Bloc.

Go to the first download page (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=search) and search for the word "associations" as this word is in the description field of the Writers Corner theme. After the results do not show, then you can check the search description checkbox and search from the results page , at which point the results are properly shown. Hope that helps.

It would seem that the first search actually searches the titles regardless of whether you check the box or not to search titles. But it does not search descriptions.

- Search in Downloads wasn't considering description checkbox. Fixed for TP 1.0 beta4-1
