Title: Danish Language module doesn't work
Post by: boldt on June 29, 2009, 06:35:20 AM
I am trying to install TP_098_danish-utf8 from http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item873, but so far without any success.
All TP text is still in English.

I have uploaded the TP-language files to smf /themes/default/languages/

what is wrong?

A support in SMF says, that the language files are saved in wrong format?, but the files are named *.danish-utf8.php like the other language-files.

Link to my site: http://ingeniordebat.dk
SMF version: SMF ver. 1.1.9
TP version: TP ver. 0.9.8
Theme name and version: Theme Default
Browser Name and Version: Browser firefox 3.0.11
Mods installed: Favicon 1.0, You Tube BBC Tag 1.0, Mimetex 1.0, Anti-Bot Registration Puzzles 1.2
Related Error messages: None

Can you try this package and let me know if it works?

Akayne reported this, so I will close the bug if I figured out how to save them properly. :)

I have now tried your new version of the language packege, but the result remains the same.

I have also tried to copy the Danish language into the English language files, but still no change.

May be it is not the language package which is the problem?

Well I am viewing your site and it looks like the Danish Language is showing just fine. Have your set your profile to use Danish?

Bingo!

It was my profile Language that was set to Danish.
I have now made Danish to my profile language.

The list of profile language says: Danish, English, Danish.
my guess is that the first is Danish-utf8.

What will happens if I delete the Danish language module - not the utf8 ?
Will all the user profiles be deault English?
Is there anything I can do to make all profiles default Danish-utf8 ?

One of the languages "should" show utf8. Maybe delete the non UTF8 files out of your SMF and then you should only see one choice. I'm sure there is a database query you could run to set all profiles to a certain language. You'd be better off asking that at SMF though I think.

the non utf8 version is deleted, and an update of the userprofiles languages was performed in MySQL.

This is now working
this problem is solved

thank you
