Title: SMF Site transfer missing TP admin section
Post by: mentorkyrom on June 28, 2009, 06:22:24 PM
Hey guys, I recently transferred our forums to a new host using Cpanel to backup, then restore the entire contents of my hosting dir. Everything transitioned over just fine and everything is functioning with the exception of the Tiny Portal Admin section. Tiny Portal is still installed and working however I cannot access the admin section from the admin menu, its just not there.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I may resolve this issue? Uninstall and re-install TP? Other options?

As always your input and help is greatly appreciated!

-Brandon

Did you check to ensure it is correct? The change/transfer may have changed it.

yes, the language was set to "English" as it was before. I tried setting it to English-UTF8 and then back to see if it would change anything, but it did not.

Thanks so much for the help so far, I hope I can get this resolved as this is the only problem I've had with TP so far.

Errors in the log? If you changed the forum to utf8 I'm assuming you have the english-utf8 files for TP installed? How about a link to your site too? Version of TP and SMF?

Just a hunch but have you run repair_settings.php since the move?

To clarify we did NOT change it utf8 I just mentiond it because people started to say thats why the panel is missing. I have not ran repair settings but I will give it a shot tonight.

using 1.1.9 of SMF and 0.983 of TP
link to forums is http://www.warpigsclan.com .

I have a hole set of different problems on warpigsclan.net (may not always be accessable) which is on a new linux install (ubuntu with EHCP control panel). We are using that as a test server that we will eventually move the .com site to so it's on a dedicated box, but I am have issues with permissions and what not there.

Anyways. I'll give the repair settings a shot, and yes I'm glad you asked, I checked and it's 113 pages of the same log, I was going to post in SMF but I'll post here too sense you asked :D

the repair settings did not change anything. I didn't think it would because when we moved host they both have cPanel so they just did a cpanel backup from old host then restored it to new, directories , databases, everything was just mirrored over

Try going through TP's manual install guide, make sure all the code is as it should be.

By chance, do you have the following mod installed?

Color & BgColor Clickable BBCode Bar (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=435)

I googled "insertlasthovered" and that is what came up.

Have you checked the language files to make sure the relevant TP related code is there?

I've had this problem before, and it turned out the relevant TP code was missing from the language files for the theme I was using.

"Test Failed" means you would have to manually remove the code from those files. Since that mod is way outdated. I'd remove but it is your choice. It may or may not fix the issues you are having but would help with the error I was referring to...

to clarify I was responding to Shkilled when he asked if I had the color bar mod in there. The test failures were for that mod. But do you think that is whats related to the admin section being missing?
