Title: Member can't find Forum tab in mobile version of my site
Post by: Muldoon on June 18, 2009, 05:09:13 PM
Hi guys,

I am very new to dealing with mobile versions for my website.  Actually I've never dealt with it before.  I recently received a message from one of my members stating that when viewing my site through a mobile device that there is no link to the 'Forum'...no forum tab, so she has to enter it manually to get to the forum.

Any idea how I can fix this??? I'm truly at a loss.  Any suggestions, or a point in the right direction would be much appreciated!

Thank you,
Muldoon

Thanks Zetan,

Looks like I forgot to add that I am using TP v.0.9.8 and SMF 1.1.8.

What happens with the default theme?

TP isn't currently working properly for mobile devices as far as I know. I think it still needs work in those areas. I've only viewed my site using my Blackberry and Opera Mini, it renders a page as a laptop or desktop does.. Not in WAP mode.

[edit] Perhaps upgrading TP from 0.9.8 will help, it may have some improvements in that area.

Ok thanks Zetan,

I'll have to ask my member to see what happens in default mode and report back.  I don't have access myself to check that stuff...

Please see my edit. Also, another member of staff may know more about the mobile modes than I do, I'm not overly familiar with it. It may be a theme issue with the menu.. whoever designed the theme and menu, or how the Forum button was added, worth checking the code over for that.
