I do not know what happened. smf 1.1.9--tp1.0b4
the smilies are being tempramental...
1. when posting to a new topic, reply to new topic if you use the ones in the main posting window they work just fine.
2. if you click the "more" link, the window pops up but clicking on the smilies gets you nothing. at the bottom of the additional smiley window you see :
javascript:void(0); but clicking on the smile usually lets it post but not anymore
Now the kicker is...the additional smilies work just fine in the shoutbox
this is both the default blue smf theme and the dark green theme that is governed by the default files.
I even uninstalled ALL packages, tp and reupped clean fresh smf/tp files then applied the packages again.
everything worked for a few times then went back to being obnoxious
Did you try it without any mods installed?
yes I did, they have been working all along from both the update to 1.1.9 and the tp upgrade. the only thing changed was I added 3 new smilies to the batch but as I said they worked then suddenly not in the posting window just working in the shoutbox---additional ones, the main ones still work
My first guess would be that your ..

lol
Would this by any chance be a CHMOD issue? I don't know much so I am just asking.
If the smilies ever worked after you installed TP, then your problem is not with TP.
I have reported this bug since beta 1, added in the bug tracker long time ago, and still no fix for it ;)
@JPDeni:
well just in case i did report this for help at the SMF forum too. I hit here first cause their first anxswer with any problem that involves having TP installed is to contact you all here...lol
Yes they did work as I said they have been working all month until I installed these 3 emotes...and on the other 7 sites I run they are working...tis just here that they don't wish to behave...the additional ones will not show in the thread posts but they do work in the shoutbox
@macdse:
tis always good to give a suggestion...sometimes the simple things tend to get overlooked, especially by me. I see an error and think complicated right off...lol
new sumpin, sumpin to really boggle the mind
I tried this on the pc laptop because of what the member stated...it does not happen in mac but does on the pc with IE
click the more link will bring up the additional smilies window, click the smilie will NOT place it into the posting window but IT DOES pop it down to the shout box
any ideas?
Heloooo, i said i reported this as a bug some time ago and that bug still excist, both in IE and Firefox.
Wait until a fix is made when Bloc have the time to look at it
ok cause i just itook the shoutbox block away and the more link now applies the smile to the post.
the culprit seems to be the shoutbox.....curious though as to why it only does it on this forum and not any of the others?

tester/tester for access to see if you want....like i said without shoutbox the smiles work where they are supposed to
do you think uninstalling the shout box...then reinstalling it will make a difference?
if so how to uninstall it.
If you're using the MooTools version of the Shoutbox, try setting it to use the Marquee version instead and let us know what happens.
ZarPrime
Come to think of it...I did not have trouble with the smilies until I tried out the various scrolling the mootools provided. We have always had it set to NO scrolling whatsoever.
Is there a way to remove the shoutbox (even if I have to remove it from the database) then reinstall it and not touch the scrolling at all...lol
***UPDATE***
I just now activated the block holding the shoutbox, set it from no scroll to marquee and it still misbehaves.
It wont matter what you do, the "more" smileys will not work when shoutbox is activated. When ever you want to use a extra smileys in a forum post, they will be added to the shoutbox instead of the forum post.
ok, well at least I know not to get curous about what the mootools will do in the shoutbox...lol
won't be messing with those controls at the other forums I run, that's for sure. Hope he gets it straightened out soon because the shoutbox from the software is ever so mcuh better than the Shoutmix one.
