I am using SMF 1.19 and TP 1.0 beta 3 right now. Plenty of mods, default theme. When I uploaded the 1.0 beta 4 package and it lists its version as 1.83 and everything but still has the red dot showing it as an older version and therefore not allowing me to "Apply Mod"
all I see is "List Files" "Delete"
Any ideas as to why?

When you say you "uploaded the 1.0 beta 4 package" what do you mean? Does that mean you uploaded the package via FTP or does that mean that you used the Package Manager? If you used the Package Manager, did you get any errors during the install? If so, what errors did you get? Did you have your Forum set to the Default SMF theme before attempting the install? At the bottom of your Forum does it still say that you have beta 3 installed or does it indicate that beta 4 is installed? what other Mods do you have installed? Please Read and Reply to the Posting Guidelines (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,581) and fill out the template at the bottom of that topic and edit it into your first post so that we will have the information that we need, including any errors from your error log that might have been added there during the install.

Related Error messages:I do have 11 failed tests on install but that probably just means I need to manually fix those php files - no problem those to me are not real errors, they are more than likely string errors for install due to the other mods but still when you visit the Browse Packages tab it displays the list of Mods and at the bottom is the new TPbeta4 listed as NOT-installed and as an older version.
I will make the necessary php fixes and see what happens.

Also I see this displayed on the install package page that lists the errors prior to installing anyway, lol.:
This package is already installed, and no upgrade was found!
You should uninstall the old version first to avoid problems, or ask the author to create an upgrade from your old version.
Please remember to always make regular backups of your sources and database before installing mods, especially beta versions.
Hope I am following the guidelines better! I laugh everytime I see you guys telling the next new guy to follow them and then I post like a newb anyway - :uglystupid2:

LOL NP. Out of curiousity, you haven't applied the Mod listed as #9 in your post have you? I don't think you did, but this version of TP won't work on SMF 2.0, so definitely don't install it. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for TP 2.0, which is not quite ready for prime time.
Go ahead and do the manual install, and let us know what happens but see if you can uninstall the old version of TP first. Don't forget backups before you get started. ;)

I do have number 9 installed, and TP is working on my site. Well of course I have not tried beta 4 manual install yet but yes 9 is installed.
Should I upgrade to any other newer version? The one I have right now lacks the wysiwyg editor or any for that matter for blocks and thats killing me on block editing
Also I dont know why that SMF version says 2.0RC1 on it because I am at the newest 1.1.9 that they just released. the SMF upgrade to that version installed no problem btw via the pkg mgr. I was at 1.1.7 prior with my current version of TP working fine.

again the weird part is that this shows number ten as an older version in other words theres a red dot there with everyone else showing a green dot (current version)
you will also notice that there is no [Apply Mod] bracket for 1.083 I guess because SMF is calling it an older version, bear in mind I did not apply the Mod because 11 php files failed on install.

Well, I don't know what the story on the SMF 2.0 RC 1 bit is, but if 1.19 is installed and it appears that it installed correctly then I would leave that alone. I would go ahead and uninstall the TP 1.063 (you may have to uninstall it manually) and delete the TP 1.083
After you've done that, try to install beta 4 with the Package Manager again, and if you get errors, do the manual install.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Thats the new update patch ZarPrime, the patch works for both 1.1.9 and rc2 for SMF, it installed for the verision you have installed, so if you have 1.1.8 installed, it will upgrade to 1.1.9, and if you have rc2 installed, it will just update with the strings that changed.
Ya, I got the same error with a different mod (SMF Media Gallery). I had 1.5.5 installed. Tried to install 1.5.6 and got an error saying I have to uninstalled 1.5.5 first. I went back to the package manager and can see the red box that is labeled showing 1.5.6 is older. The legend should probably be re-worded to be more accurate.
You should be fine uninstalling 1.063, deleting the 1.083 version and then re-uploading the 1.083 version. You should now be able to use the Apply link.

Ah, OK. Got it. Since I haven't updated SMF to 1.1.9 yet I wouldn't have seen that. Thanks for the heads up. :up:

Ok, situation solved. I uninstalled older version and installed newer. This resulted in 4 failed tests, probably due to mods and installing the newer version resulted in only 2 failed however after inspecting the php files I found that the TP code was there but since the install code was looking for a default forum without mods that the install only appeared to have failed again because of additionally installed mods or changes to the string that the installer is looking for.
all in all, everything went smooth and installed correctly.
The original reported "bug" (which is more SMF than TP) is still reproducible but of no concern.
Uninstalling the old version first resolves the issue.
