Not sure if this is a bug yet, but I can't get it to work.
This affects a member account with certain permissions not an admin account.
Ok I have a test user account with permissions set to manage, submit and edit articles.
When the user creates an article the Category drop down list is unpopulated even though I have created various categories from within the admin account.
Also, when this user goes to the categories tab there are no categories listed there even though like I say I have numerous categories set up via the admin account.
Also, this user is not able to add categories - you can get as far as typing the category name into the category box and then when you press 'SAVE' nothing appears in the category list.
However, adding categories is actually working behind the scenes because when I go into the admin account there I find the categories that where supposed to be created by the user. But none of this is apparent for the user.
Can anyone else confirm this works for them or not ?
Cheers.
After saving the article, go back in to article edit and see if the category list is then available and able to be selected.

Ok, I tried that but still no articles appear in the Category list..
Im starting to think your install of tp is broken somehow.
I have read through your reports and tested several of them and cant duplicate them on eather my testsite, locally or my testsite on the server.
Can you make sure you have a complealty correct install of TP by uploading the files from the package manually and then check the SMF files for the TP code and make sure it's there and correctly added.
Ok a reasonable request. In fact I think I will fresh install SMF and TP from the beginning again. This install was making use of Beta 3 so perhaps something got left behind when I un-installed it. Thanks for helping out.
Well I did a fresh install of SMF 1.1.9 and TP Beta 4 and everything seems to have installed okay.
I found that as an admin I can edit a category and then set the access rights for member groups. This means the categories do now appear in the drop down list for a user who has article management permission. Sorry about that kinda, but the point is the non admin member with manage article permission should be able to do this too...
So I do still have the problem :
I have a test member account with permission to Manage Articles.
When I use this account to add a category the category doesn't seem to get added and it does not take you to the category editor. Neither does it appear in the category list so you can't edit it (although like I said above it is actually getting added behind the scenes).
Which means the only way for this category to appear to the test member is for me to go into Admin and set the access rights.
BUT, if with the test member account I choose to set it as a subcategory then it does take you to the category editor.
So that's kind of odd, as it should work for adding a new category as well as assigning it to a sub - category.
