Title: All About Swine Flu
Post by: ezekiel.jr on April 30, 2009, 06:10:14 AM
Collated materials from CDC and WHO to help us all understand this scare of a swine flu pandemic, what to watch out for, how to prevent it from spreading, and treatment for it once the virus is contracted. Also included a worldwide Swine Flu tracker, it pinpoints all areas in the world where there is suspected/confirmed cases and deaths. Be safe out there. Check it out here http://www.allaboutswineflu.net/ (http://www.allaboutswineflu.net/)

The so called "swine flu Pandemic" is a bunch of poppy cock. Maybe time will prove me wrong... But for now, I think this is a bunch of crap! How many people have died from this so far? Compare the numbers of deaths to how many people died from the regular flu from last year.... Seriously, over a 100,000 people die each year from the flu across the world. I don't see what about this flu makes it so much more worse that the regular flu. The media is making this up to be FAR more that what it really is.

It's true that thousands of people die from the regular flu every year. And that is with a vaccine that a whole lot of the most vulnerable people get which prevents them from getting it or at least minimizes the effect. The problem with H1N1 is that there is no vaccine available. If 13,000 people (a number I heard this morning) die from a flu that has a vaccine, think about the potential loss of life from a flu that has no vaccine.

I don't know what's going to happen, but it's not just the media that is talking about this. The World Health Organization is quite concerned and that's not a group that is easily influenced by what is in the media.

I hope you are right Brad about this.  The schools here are closed for the next 2 days due to 2 kids have been diagnosed as having it. The 2 kids are at home now and should be fine, but I think the steps taken so far here are prudent in closing all the schools in the county and stopping all after school athletic events. Better safe than sorry. I am flying to EL Paso next week. I hope my plane is void of anyone with the cough...

If anything, we all have to be careful. My son was just sent home from school today because he was not feeling well. The school nurse told me she was sending him home because of the Swine flu scare. I don't really blame her, it's just one of this "extra" precautionary measure I guess.

Bottom line is we have to wash our hands, take care of our bodies, and stay healthy swine flu or not.

IchBin, I have to totally agree with you 100%.  No vaccine?  Well what about the millions of veils Jimmy Carter  had to stock pile back in the 70's when he, also, tired to start a Pandemic around the World.  Seems the cure was worse than the flu and also killed several people around this country.

Sorry, my views are my own and I take responsibility for them.  Humm! TNC

All views and opinions are valid. The bottomline here is, swine flu or not, it just makes sense to take the same precautions to fight diseases.

I whole heartily agree. The precautions are certainly necessary. The word does need to get out, and what ever we can do to help not pass the virus on is a good thing. But the media is making this out to be a major pandemic before it even becomes one.

Looks like it wasn't as bad as made out to be. Certainly good to hear. I hate how the media does these things....
