Bloc first let me apologize ill explain what has happened befor i pose my question.
I have used TP for 3 years now and have no complaints . Here comes the first mistake when i started my new site i was looking around and came across portamx.
I thought i would try it out they say how much they helped build TP and so on BIG mistake. The second mistake i expected their forum & support would function somewhat like tp but 10 hours later still no response so i have come to make a fool of myself and to ask if it would be possible if you could help me get rid of this virus they call portamx. after installing it i get this error
QuoteWarning: require_once(/home/content/c/h/e/chefjohnnie/html/ptu_network/Sources/PortaMx/PortaMx.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: Not a directory in /home/content/c/h/e/chefjohnnie/html/ptu_network/index.php on line 66
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/content/c/h/e/chefjohnnie/html/ptu_network/Sources/PortaMx/PortaMx.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php') in /home/content/c/h/e/chefjohnnie/html/ptu_network/index.php on line 66
Once again forgive me i will never stray away from TP again.
Please read the Posting Guidelines.html (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,581)How did you install PortaMX? Manual Install or via the SMF Package Manager?
SMF automatically creates backups each time a package is installed via the Package Manager.
To be honest, we support TP and we aren't likely to start offering advice on how to remove another portal. You really need to keep asking at PortaMX, or SMF. When you have your site working properly and if you choose to use TP again, of course we'll help where we can.
Quote from: chefjohnnie aka 888mafia on PortaMXI am so glad that there is something else aside from TP thanks
Indeed.
Also, it doesn't bode well to slag off a product and still expect support.
Quote from: chefjohnnie aka 888mafia on PortaMXWell it all makes sense now why i have never heard of portamx the web site is dead support is void documentation is nowhere i thought this might be a great alternative to TinyPortal , i am sooooo wrong portamax dosent even come close.
So im heading over to Tinyportal and SMF to see if someone there knows how to get rid of this virus you call portalmx

[Edit] Please also make sure you post in the correct board and not aim the topic directly at Bloc, that's why the whole team is here. Thanks. Topic moved.
Are you not in a position to start over again for your new site? You would most likely fare better over time by removing the scripts and database (before you get too far along), and then reinstalling SMF from there.
First and foremost TP please forgive my laps of reason when moving away from TP .I have allways used tp and for my second site i thought i would try a different path so with my experience that path has led to hell and i give my solemn promise to stay tru.
so her is my pledge
"I pledge allegiance to this Site and the Tinyportal for which it stands, one Forum, indivisible, with support and justice for all."
Just trying to say sorry for bringing this bull to TP
We're really not bothered that you tried something else, thats your free choice. We wont hold it against you. You will need to remove the PortaMX database entries, and, either retrieve the backup created when PortaMX was installed, or, install fresh SMF files, replacing those edited by PortaMX.
Bull it is.
1. Download the big upgrade package for SMF 1.1.8, extract and upload/replace your old files.
2. Download TP Beta3 and upload it to your package manager and install.
There you have SMF and TP
Porta MX databases i know nothing about, but they should have portamx names to the tables, remove them or just let them be as they will not affect anything as the files are now missing any fragment of portamx

*ahem* .. It's not often that happens ;D
I hope you're not running SMF2 with portamx. TP doesn't support SMF2 just yet.
I was about to say the same lol, afaik PortaMX only installs on SMF 2.
He hasn't been back so I am betting it is SMF2 and he realized his mistake.
