should have said - I'm told it has been this way for a few days and other mysql/php stuff I have installed on the same server is fine . . .
kwell .. .. .. ..
Usually The error message you report means there is an error in one of your files. Have you added/updated any files lately? Line 215 in my Index.php reffers to
'announce' => array('Post.php', 'AnnounceTopic'), So if you have updated the Post.php file; or installed a mod which changed that file. That could be your problem. If not, it may be corrupt, and need to be re-up-loaded.

That's the thing - I've done nothing in the interim. I tried uploading an index.php from the 1.0.6 SMF download and this just shifted the error elsewhere. I was wondering if this was a TP issue - maybe its an SMF issue - I'll ask there.
Could I just reinstall SMF & TP ? I'm assuming my DB is still fine . . .
You should not loose anything, except maybe a few settings, by re-installing either.
A first choice would be to just replace the smf files on your server, and then re-install TP. Re-installing SMF may not be needed.

no mater what I did with re-uploading things were not working - no idea what the prob was. Had to create a new folder, do a new install and re-used the old dbase. When I tried looking for all my old themes and uploads in the old folder chucnks of it was missing - very odd. I think the folder must have got corrupted somehow. Lost my theme customisations and all forum uploads. DOH!
Sorry to hear m8. Don't think it's SMF or Tp related though.
