Title: Top menu is not working in a custom theme
Post by: Akyhne on March 12, 2009, 04:05:05 PM
SMF 1.1.8, TP 1.0 beta3

I'm using 1.0 beta 3 with a theme build on the Default theme. The only issue I have is that the 'search' button is always highlighted.
In other words, the top menu doesn't show correctly where in the forum I am. As mentioned here (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,28251.msg224982.html#msg224982), the theme should work without further actions, buy it doesn't.

Please do follow the guide I asked you to read. We need a link to the site, mods installed.

What alterations have you made to the default theme code, if any?
Has this just started since upgrading TP.

We need more information.

Nothing changed in the theme, except a few images. Troubles started after installing TP.

For now, I'm really just asking wether it is correct that it should work anyway. Or DO I need to change something in the custom theme?

Please attach the index.template.php from the themes directory so I can review it.

looks like the menu has more problems because now the Home and Chat buttons are highlighted together, and the Chat button text is aligned left.

Nope, the chat button was always there. Forgot all about I had added that one as a custom button months ago.

Try that attached.  Yeah upon looking it was there. Problem is you had the action=home so thats why they were both highlighted. When you add a button you have to make sure that they have separate actions or they will mess up the menu.
