When I created my TinyPortal account, I was actively using TP and thus I opted to receive email announcements. Things have changed and I no longer wish to receive the email updates. The announcements say:

Unfortunately, my profile doesn't let me modify anything except Paid Subscriptions. Obviously I can log in because I'm posting this message, but something is misconfigured with this site's permissions such that I cannot modify my own profile. I want to keep my account here because I expect to be using TinyPortal again, but if this doesn't get fixed soon, I'll have no choice but to delete my account.

Have you went to your profile and then clicked "Notifications and Email" on the menu on the left?
You also may not be able to modify the permissions due to you only have 1 post. I believe 5 post are required to be able to make changes to your profile. This is done to cut down on the spammers that may register here.
There is no "Notifications and Email" section -- that's the problem. I know it's a problem because I admin an SMF+TP site and recognize the problem as a permissions issue. It sounds like this is a conscious decision to fight spammers, which I understand, but please consider this:
You have to create an account to download TP. If you are downloading TP, it's easy to assume it'll be used and thus you'll want emailed announcements (which I did). While I've referenced these boards several times, I've never had reason to post (not counting now). So now that I'm no longer maintaining an active TP installation, I don't want to receive the email announcements -- but I cannot disable them.
I'd appreciate it if you could fix this situation, at least for me, at most for everyone.

It is no longer required to create an account to download TP here. You can see this on the frontpage where it says this specifically. I understand your concern, but it is a risk that I'm willing to take by aggravating a few users, than to allow any spam to be posted here. And since you were such Gentleman (assuming you're a male lol) about it, I'd be glad to change your profile for you. Thanks.
Now that you don't need an account to download TP, this is probably much less of an issue for others. Personally I'd prefer having the ability to modify your own profile any time and, for example, using CAPTCHA to gate your first several posts, but it's hard to know what's best without being the one dealing with the spam.

I would like to opt out for receiving forum announcements. Is there someone here who is able to change my account settings so that I will no longer receive the Tiny portal Announcements mailing?

While you're at it, I'm here for the same reason - I used to use TP but no longer use the product and don't need the emails. Any chance deleting the account will do the same thing?

Yes, delete your account and you will no longer get any mail from this site. I will not delete it for you, you have to do that yourself.
