Title: Did I do something wrong?
Post by: Kalani on February 22, 2009, 11:20:55 PM
I installed Tiny Portal and noticed that I can't  really access the forums from 'home', only see info about posts and such. I go to the admin section to see what I can edit and then noticed something that seemed off.

That normal?

Hi Kalani,

Welcome to TinyPortal.

Simple answer is ...

No, not exactly normal, but not unusual either.  Have a look at this topic ...
Blank Admin Panel or Text missing? (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=34)

Also, TP is a mod for SMF so it only installs to the SMF Default theme and you should use that theme when installing it.  If there is no Forum button in your custom theme you will need to add a Forum button or tab.  To learn how to do that, read this topic ...
How to add a Home button or a new tab? (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=30)

Thank you so much! My friend had it set to British English..I swapped it to normal English and things look a lot better!

Hi Kalani,

Glad you got it fixed.  Did you need me to leave this topic open while you add your Forum tab or can I mark this solved?

Oh, sorry! I didn't know I was supposed to say if everything was okay. You can go ahead and mark this topic as solved. I think I got it. I'll mess around with the portal later, but I see all the links and such now. Thanks for being so helpful.
