been searching for the uninstallation process, but
i just read about manually removing it.
are there any other ways than manually removing it?
http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php/topic,147.html
i also cannot do the suggested copying of full upgrade files of SMF to my forum
since i already have modification on default templates/sources / themes
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,27943.msg222855.html#msg222855
hoping for any automated uninstall or anyone can help me
cheers..
thanks so much
If the package manager doesent work, this is the option you allready posted.

But! If you dont have any other mods, or dont care about them, you can simply download the big upgrade package from SMF and extract the package, and upload/replace your files with the new ones from the package.
That brings your forum files to default and brand new ones to work with again.
i m on my last step in manual removing
where can i find these files?

tp_install.php
^^ i was not able to perform this part since i cannot find the folder where to delete it.
and got this error
Installation Readme
Please un-install TinyPortal 0.6-0.9.x before installing the new TinyPortal 1.0. You will NOT loose any data, and everything will work as before. After un-installing(removing the modifications to SMF files only) you can then re-install TP v1.0 and it will pick and use the old data. Note that TP no longer need to use custom TP themes, it will use SMF themes just fine..but you WILL need to add the extra "forum" button/tab to the theme.
m stuck.. help
Those files would of you SMF directory. Chances are alot of them may not exist. If you do find them just delete them. Then try to install the new version.
thanks, im searching for it now,
standby and i will update you
:)
i still cannot see any of those files.
please help
If you don't have the files then move on. :) IF you don't see them, they are not there. Which means there's no file to delete.

do i need to manual install it? huhuhu :(
**btw i did not touch the database.
i removed tinyporta .98 on my installlist inside package manager and was able to
apply mod but with errors
7. Execute Modification ./index.php Test failed
8. Execute Modification ./Sources/Load.php Test failed
9. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/index.template.php Test successful
10. Execute Modification ./Themes/babylon/index.template.php Test failed
11. Execute Modification ./Sources/Subs.php Test successful
12. Execute Modification ./Sources/ManagePermissions.php Test successful
13. Execute Modification ./Sources/Security.php Test successful
14. Execute Modification ./Sources/Errors.php Test successful
15. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Help.template.php Test failed
any suggestions?
can i proceed installing and manually install on those failed part.
but maybe the search for string was not found, so if i manually install it i will not see it either..
woah.. more time more time, patience. :)
any advise for workaround...
You can do the manual install and verify in all the files that the correct and required changes were made. You can let the installer package make the changes it can but you will need to still verify the changes during the manual install process.
Use: How do I manually install TinyPortal (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=29) as the guide to the manual Install.
is this okey?
1. Install thru package manager even with test failed
Execute Modification ./index.php Test failed
Execute Modification ./Sources/Load.php Test failed
Execute Modification ./Themes/babylon/index.template.php Test failed
Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Help.template.php Test failed
2. Check the files manually against the manual install procedure
./index.php
./Sources/Load.php
./Themes/babylon/index.template.php
./Themes/default/Help.template.php
feedback please.
THanks.
Yes, as long as the changes get done it should be fine. This assumes you know how to follow directions. :)
http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php/topic,147.html
Remove the code according to this manual.
done :)
Marked solved then

G6...I have a similar question (which I think you have answered already). I have 4 forums, all of which use TP (very nicely I might add)...but I have one that I want to upgrade to the SMF 2.0 (RC1) (it's presently at the version 1.18 with TP).
So, I just want to verify that if I UPGRADE this forum to SMF 2.0, and NOT reinstall TP...my forum is good to go with the upgrade in SMF. I understand I will lose TP and also all mods that were installed...the only thing remaining will be my members, forums posts, and PM's. Am I understanding this correctly.
My forum has 18,000 members, so I want to be sure before I do this...
Thanks,
Wally
Should work if you upgrade with the big packages as TP code will be lost in the SMF core files.
The DB will still be there though, but should not give you any errors. So when tp reaches release for TP2, you should be able to install and fetch the old content yes.
Thank you G6...I appreciate the prompt answer. :D
Wally
But be sure to backup before you do that, just in case. Backup is always a good idea, early and often. ;)
