Hi, I recently upgraded to TinyPortal v1.0 beta 3 with no problems, but then decided that I prefered using TinyPortal v1.0.5 beta 1 so decided to uninstall beta 3, on the uninstall it showed errors but I still continued with the uninstall :uglystupid2: ( yep i know )
after the uninstall of the TinyPortal v1.0 beta 3 I cant gain access to the forum admin section and see this message : Table 'robbiean_smf2.modules' doesn't exist
File: /home/robbiean/public_html/robbie93andhotchildxox.com/Sources/TPSubs.php
Line: 67
Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.8, while your database is at version 1.1.5. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.
and also the html article that was on the home page has now dissapeared, does anybody know how to fix this problem, thanks.

smf 1.1.8
You cant downgrade from beta 3 to 1.0.5, there are db changes between the versions, so if you dont have any db backups to go back to, you are going to eather drop the tp tables and loose all your tp content and start over, or install beta3 again
I know nothing about databases, and I cant access admin so what it the best thing for me to do ( the easiest ) thanks for the reply.
Ad back beta3 to your forum again but manually as you cant access your site.
How do I manually install TinyPortal (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=29)
Modification Instructions (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=140)
could you tell me where i find this directory please $sourcedir/Load.php

Just want to confirm that dropping the TP tables will cause no ill effects to his SMF database applications. Also what about all the files that were wriiten to during the TP first install.
Is one able just to swap those out with fresh files from a 1.1.8 package? Files in question:
Sources Directory: BoardIndex.php
Sources Directory: Errors.php
Sources Directory: Load.php
Sources Directory: ManagePermissions.php
Sources Directory: Profile.php
Sources Directory: QueryString.php
Sources Directory: Security.php
Sources Directory: Subs.php
Sources Directory: Subs-Post.php
Themes Directory/default: index.template.php
Themes Directory/default: style.css
Themes Directory/default: Help.template.php
Forum Directory: SSI.php
Forum Directory: index.php
@robbie93,
Personally I think its best to get your SMF application back in correct operational standing. Hence the deleting all reference to TP to get it to that point. Then if you wish you can try to re-install TP
Thanks.

Hi Frank.
The short answer is yes you can just replace the SMF files to restore your SMF forum to the original state...
however, that will cause you to lose any other Mods, not just your TP Mod.To take this approach you'll need to extract the SMF files and upload them to your site, just be sure to
NOT upload/replace your 'settings.php' and 'settings.php~' files.
umm well.
I am guessing that Robbie will not want to lose the current mods they have.
Thanks Ken!!!
Frank
Strictly speaking they shouldn't be completely lost, they'll just need to be reinstalled... any db content should still be there, but as you know things can sometimes go astray. Also, it may be that some of them will require manual (re)installs.

This is true. the database will still hold the data for the mods.
Might be safer just to rework the core files.
I am guessing this is what the OP is doing.

robbie,
I'm not sure that anybody answered your question, but this refers to the Load.php file in your /public_html/YourSMF-Folder/Sources/ folder.
/public_html/YourSMF-Folder/Sources/Load.php

thanks to everyone for helping me with this :) special thanks to frank at G C solutions who went out of his way to help  thanks frank you're support is fantastic
ok I have a problem with articles that are put on the home page, is there any way to take off the ugly looking grey border that is surrounding the pic, please look at screeny, thank you all.
ZarPrime thanks for the reply
Take a look around and get to know TinyPortal a bit Robbie. These are settings that you can change inside your article.
thanks for the fast reply IchBin  I am a bit confused with this though, with previous tp's to take the border off of articles it was usually
- Display: Use frame from theme
Use just the title
Do not use title/frame
I have clicked on do not use title/frame and the border still shows, am I doing this correctly?

OK, if you want me to have a look at it and see if I can figure it out, create a test account and send me a PM with the username and password. Don't post it here, send me a PM.
ZP
thanks :) pm sent
Looks like you have a pic with stars and and site background with stars. That grey background is actually the windowbg of your theme.
I don't think you can change that without affecting all articles.
when you click on dont show frame or title in articles then the frame and title should not show but for some reason it is. the option to not show title and frame doesnt seem to be working.
robbie,
OK, have a look at that now. If it looks OK, let me know and I'll let you know how I did it.
ZP
wow, thank you so much ZP it looks great now :) how did you do it please? :D
Hi robbie,
OK, let see if I can describe this for you. It is possible that there is a bug in the way beta 3 renders articles. I say this is possible but I don't know for sure but I will place a bug in the bugtracker about it. I couldn't get it to work showing the featured article without that border either so here's what I did.
First of all, I created a Front Page block with the type "single Article" selected. I then selected the only article which is turned on, which is Donkey Kong. For this block, I selected to show it without the title or frame. I then went to your Front Page Settings and chose "FrontPanel" instead of "Only Articles". So, the picture is now in an article block instead of just showing the article itself.
ZarPrime
If that works for you, you can go ahead and delete that test account if you want to unless you want to keep it around for a little while longer, just in case. ;)
ZarPrime
thanks for the help ZP :) we will keep the account if thats ok with you ;D
I will try and add further articles using you're advice and see if they work for me lol
yep I think there must be a buggy to, again thanks for you're helpys :D
:) Yes thanks so much ZarPrime... Because of you, we have our home page back
good as new :) :)
Hi Robbie and Hotchild,
Is she that pretty one I've heard so much about? :2funny:
Again, I'm not certain that it is a bug. I think that frame it's showing might be the window background of the page itself. I think the reason it shows up is because it's between the actual body background and the image itself. Anyway, putting the single article in a block solves it, but if you ever want to show actual articles on the Front Page instead of Front Page blocks the problem may resurface.
Anyway, I'm glad it solves the problem at hand for now.
ZarPrime
thanks again ZP  and no... I'm the pretty one :2funny:
hehe thanks again
Just for historical for the bug, I too am having that same problem. Zarprime just sent me over to this thread to read, and yep it's the exact same problem I've been having.
ZP please can you help
I just upgraded to TinyPortal v1.0 beta 3 on our other site and I am having trouble getting the background off the homepage again, I did what you said before that worked on the other site, I created a frontpage block, single article and so on but still, the background wont dissapear from the homepage :uglystupid2: .... ok... I am lost now :o
Ok forget the last post :o I just read back on how you told me to fix it and I missed this part
QuoteI then went to your Front Page Settings and chose "FrontPanel" instead of "Only Articles".
Silly me :D
Robbie,
Go ahead and start a new topic and post the information from the Posting Guidelines (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,581) for me, and let us know what the problem is. That way we can keep it separate from the issues in this topic.
OK, saw you posted. Does that solve it?
ZarPrime
Yep problem solved zp thanks for you're help
