I downloaded the new TP 1.0 beta 3 on to my test website this morning (which has smf 1.1.8) , everything is great except I cannot type into the add tag field?
Any ideas?
I assume you are doing that from the admin panel --> Modules and Tags --> Tags
No. On the thread itself, I "show" the tag area and then attempt to add a tag and I am unable to type in anything. The cursor blinks, but nothing types.
You must add tags from the admin panel. Go here: admin panel --> Modules and Tags --> Tags
you can't go into a topic, and tag it?
You can go into a topic and tag it after you have added tags thru the admin panel.
so the tags in topics, boards, articles, etc is limited to any tags entered on the admin side?
I'd have to really do some thinking to think about all of the possibilities that I would need to add ...

I agree that it takes some pre-thought. if I am wrong I hope someone comes and lets me/us know. But from what I understand that is how it is done. Maybe in the future Bloc will add the ability to add a Tag at the time you make/edit topics, articles, etc...
thanks Renegd98, can someone else confirm that this is the way that tags work?
It is, you administrate the tags on the admin apge, then assign them later on in articles/topics etc.
But I can see the use of a quick-add of tags right where you assign them too.
It just seems like too much looking into the future for me to predict everything that my website could possibly tag, if you know what I'm saying.
Maybe it's just me though.
Also, where do the tags list themselves so you can click one to see what all was tagged with that tag?
Currently the tags only appear in one of its "children" items like an article or file, meaning there isn't an immediate option to see ALL tags and whats tagged with them. A expansion on the interface is needed there.
is tagging only for forum topics? it would be nice to tag downloads and articles also maybe.
All of them, you just need to be able to edit articles or downloads.
Check this sites frontpage, the links on the right of some articles are tagged items.
