Title: Additonal page help
Post by: pvtjimmy on December 30, 2008, 06:15:00 PM
Sorry if this is a noob question but here goes....

Is it possible to create separate linkable pages within TP? I have a VERY limited knowledge of PHP so coding from scratch (at this point) is kinda out of the question.

I have a gaming clan website and I want to add pages like separate Roster pages. I can create the html into a block, but how to I make just this block show like it is a separate page and then how do I create a separate link off a menu to it? I may just be miss the concept here somewhere.

Site: http://clandevious.com (http://clandevious.com)
SMF Version: SMF 1.1.7
TinyPortal version:1.0.6 beta 2
Theme name and version: Custom
Mods installed: Downloads Manager and TP Simple Shoutbox
Related Error messages: none

Create html articles and save as pages you link to from a menu block or similar.
the articles doesent need to be in PHP  :)

Hi pvtjimmy, welcome to TinyPortal.

As mentioned by G6, TP articles are good for making extra pages for your site and they can be linked to your theme's navigation, or a link box, or between pages.
Here's an example:
My Forum Index (http://www.ourfamilyforum.org/FamilyForum/index.php?action=forum) ... look in the 'Links' box on the upper left and you'll see a link for 'Gallery How-To' that will take you to a page that is an HTML article containing that article plus links to other pages on the same general subject.
You can do just about any setup that you need using the TP article system.  ;)
