I'm following page views from two different sources: TP stats block and Google Analytics which I have configured to the index.template.php file of the theme in use.
The problem is that TP stats shows 3 times more traffic than Google Analytics and I'm wondering which one of these is the more reliable source of information on page views.
Any insight?
Someone may be able to give you an answer, but the stats are actually an SMF function I think.
The TP stats are IMHO more reliable as it counts the actuall funtions with in tp and SMF
I have both also but have my set to the homepage that then redirects to the portal page. I tried to set it in the index.template.php but it just won't work at all and gives me error messages.
I did it to see what the bounce rate was and it seems to be going down, they said the bouncerate is what the sites say should be down for better rating???, something like that but when I contact sites for sponsorship prizes for my members I use the TP stats...lol
TP or actually SMF stats just counts all pageviews, Google tracks users I think, keeping tabs on where they go so thats why the numbers are lower. Both are useful though.
Thanks for the comments.

Hmm, I think I'm comparing the exact same measure; page views. In Google Analytics it's "pageviews from all users", so that is all page views on the site. Still I get 2-3 times more from SMF stats. Maybe the Google Analytics tracking code isn't capturing all the traffic even though it's included in the index.template.php file. Oh well, this is not related to TinyPortal anyway, i.e. kind of off-topic here.
