Title: SSI in a PHP Article
Post by: darkspreader on December 06, 2008, 03:15:58 AM
Link to my site: http://www.alpha27.net/dev
SMF version: 1.1.7
TP version: 1.0.6 beta 2
Theme name and version: Mystic Jade (edited) 1.1
Mods installed: Tinyportal
Related Error messages: Trying to execute SSI in a PHP article, but i get this:
QuoteParse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in F:\htdocs\alpha27.net\dev\Sources\Load.php(1735) : eval()'d code(979) : eval()'d code on line 1

Maybe I am doing this wrong, but I would like to be able to execute SSI in an article. My whole plan is to turn the main portal/frontpage of Tinyportal into a homepage sort of thing, and make a separate article that has all the other blocks so it can be the portal. Any ideas?

Edit: Oh stupid me. I figured out that I can just make an article, and set it to not show the title/block, then from there i can add blocks that will show on just that article. However, I do have another question.

If I make some articles, then later delete them, then make some new ones again, how can i change the ID of the new articles to be like the older articles? For example, I made article 1, then deleted it. I then made a new article, article 2, but I want to change article 2 to have the link of article 1. Can i do this through the SQL database?

Edit2: Ok, I just found out how to do that too. I guess I jumped the gun too early. :P

Sorry.

So I can add SSI in a PHP block after all? I'll try that out.

I also ran into a different problem once again. I don't know if I should make a separate new topic, but I'll post it in here as well.
Whenever I make a new article, and add text and whatever to it, The content does not show. So, as a compromise, I had to make an upper block that will only show in that article. It works pretty well, but I feel kind of uneasy knowing that something may not be working right. Any suggestions?

Here is an example of what I'm talking about.

Your second issue run down to bugs, if you check the bugtracker you will see that there are numerous layout bugs regarding articles and how they can show in beta2, it will however be fixed in the next beta

And yes, you can use ssi in php if you use the include statment, and leave out the php tags as they are allready renderd in the php block
