Title: Menu manager - more than menubox possible?
Post by: DocPixel on October 25, 2008, 03:21:01 AM
I've been trying to create a second, separate block of links. Is this possible? All I can do is add more menu items, but I don't see a way to divide the links into two menuboxes.

When I create a separate menu box it retrieves them all, then I have two blocks of the same links.

I'm running TP 1.05 and SMF 1.1.6.

You could utilize a block (be it HTML or PHP) to display links to various features on your site.

The block can be enabled for certain membergroups and go from there.

Using php, you can have a dynamic menu based on whatever code you wish to provide the links.

If you look at my site, the left column has a menu that is a php block, with each menu item created based on who is viewing the block.

Thanks, Ianedres. That sounds like a good solution. (I'll take that as a no to my original question...)  ;)

Got a link to the site you mean?

Under Ianedres avatar you see a little blue globe, that works as a link to his site when you click it  :)

There are plans to take the menu manager and turn it into a module. Hopefully by then the feature of having more than one menu will be implemented. :)

Thanks, Ichbin, Ianedres and G6.

That's good enough for me - I love Tiny Portal. Saved me from having to learn Joomla or Mambo.  :P

And the support response is awesome.  ;)
