Title: No more screwing around
Post by: gto3113 on October 18, 2008, 07:32:19 AM
I've trien everything I can possibly do. Donation to the person who get TP 1.05 on my forum.
I have SMF 1.1.6 on there, nothing else, I'll add mod and packages later. I bought XDApoc and now have Equinox. I wnat to run this, but TP will not install. I need this on there NOW!!!!. I've gone the patient learning way and has failed. I followed manual install to a tee and still errors. If you want the money I want it loaded so I can use my new web site.

Welcome to TinyPortal gto3113.

You mentioned two themes, are you trying to install TP to those themes?
Your SMF should be placed in the Default theme for a package manager install and for a manual install the edits should all be to the Default theme except as noted in the instruction.

If you read and follow this it will make it easier to help you:

Thanks guys.
I got up this morning and thought to myself, I'm giving up too easy. I went back to the instructions on doing a manual install and went over everyinch of it, still an error. Then I thought back to the index as to something I added in, I changed it and Bang !!!
There it was TP
I'm still haveing errors with some features, but its in and I'll do a little tweking to set things right.
Thanks guys for responding so quick.

I had to re-do the entire thing again. I have done everything I can to do a manual install, approx. 6 times now. It just wont take. The message I get is:
Table 'd60537661.smf_tp_settings' doesn't exist
Any idea's, I'm at a loss. Here I am sitting on a new re-designed theme and once again TP won't load for me.
I hope you can help.

There is not much we can do if you don't give us anything to work with. Saying "it doesn't work" isn't giving us any idea on what you've tried. Did you look at your database to see if the table is there? Have you run the manual_tp_install.php file? If you're running it, and its not installing that table, then open the file and grab the query, then manually run it on your database with a tool like phpMyAdmin that most hosts have.
QuoteCREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `smf_tp_settings` (
  `id` mediumint(9) NOT NULL auto_increment,
  `name` text NULL,
  `value` text NULL,
  PRIMARY KEY  (`id`)
) TYPE=MyISAM

Assuming your database tables are prefixed with smf_

One question, what errors did you get when you tried to install it through the Package Manager?

None, it just wouldn't install. Kept getting a blank screen. Tried going back to try again, tried refresh, still nothing. I did a manual install, I did a permission workaround. Still nothing. I dont get errors other than the one I listed previously.

That is strange, because TP installs smoothly through the Package Manager. That is why I asked you if you had any error so we could try to solve them and then install it the easy way.

Anyway, when you did the manual install, did you make sure to make all the edits required? I ask this, due to the error message that you posted above which indicates that a table is not created. Running the installer should have taken care of it (creating the tables in the db).

Can you log in to the phpmyadmin in the acp of your host and go to the db that your forum resides on and see if the tp tables are in there? If they are not, then try to run the installer once again and post back the results.

hmmm sounds like there's an echo in here. ;)

Since you didn't respond to mine, nor babjusi's post on what to do, I'm going to assume you haven't tried anything that we've suggested yet.

Sorry I took so long to get back. I get a Load.php error
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 66060288) (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /mnt/w0811/d42/s08/b0220764/www/xxxtremegamers.ca/gamer/Sources/Load.php(1732) : eval()'d code on line 136

It wouldn't do an install through the package installer, never has been able to, dont know why.
I did a manual install using the manual_tp_install.php file and it said everything was OK. When I go to load the page I get the above error.
Thanks

There are many reasons for that error. You should check out a search and try some of the suggestions that have been given.

OK, I did another manual install and it worked. It turns out I learned something new, when adding files before and after code it needs to be place independantly. When it says add after, dont click after the code and add or even tab down to its own line, you have to create a space before and after then input. Thats what fixed it for me.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

gto3113, If i may make a suggestion. Now that it is working correctly, make a backup. That will help you in the future.
