First bug:
Editing any menu item turns the upper navigation from Menu Manager/Add Menu Item to Panels/Blocks.

Second:
Creating a Category type menu item saves the link properly. However, if you go to edit the menu item you can no longer choose a category. It shows no categories avialable to choose.

In one users case after clicking on the category or article menu item, it would not load the article or category. But it did load the rest of the page (header/footer/sidebars etc). I have not been able to reproduce this problem on my test site however, but figured it worth mentioning.

Fixed for beta3:

- edit menuitem rendered wrong navigation menu, articles/categories not using "shortname". Fixed.
