I'm having a problem with the feature "Hide panels when in custom actions" in 1.0.6 beta 2.
There are several MODS that this featrure does not seem to agree with only under the new version (1.0.6). One example: "Blog Community".....great mod by Charles Hill. TP 1.0.6. Beta 2 crunches our blogs between the left and right blocks, even though I have told it to hide or exclude it. Also there are some custom pages that, try as I might, I can't get Tiny Portal 1.0.6 Beta 2 to hide it's blocks on, for some reason. There are other minor examples, but I would settle for getting my Blogs back under Beta 2.
The version of TP previous to this one worked just great at displaying the blocks and information as I told it to. I do not understand the problem and as I don't see another post of this problem anywhere on the site I figured I would ask.
Basic Info:
SMF Version: 1.1.6 (upgraded from 1.1.5....not clean install)
Mods Installed:
Site Integration
Blog Community
Mood Stars
Tiny Portal 1.0.6 beta 2 (upgraded from previous version...not clean install).
For the time being, I have removed TP 1.0.6 and went back to 1.0.5 until the issue is resolved, or else I would include my URL for you to see the actual problem.
Help?
Thanks,
David
Are the blogs a custom "action"? meaning ?action=blogs or similar?
Using the very same mod on one of my sites www.dennismj.familjegodis.se and have added the custom hidepanel for custom action.
Works like it should
Make sure you add the action correctly to the window like
arcade, gallery, blogs, ( not blog) must have the s with the word. etc etc

Wow...very quick reply. I actually modified my original message with more information while you were posting. But yes, they are a custom action.
"index.php?action=blogs"
David
Did you read my post at all ?
You dont type in the /index.php?action=what ever action you may want to hide the panels from.
Just type in like i wrote, just the action word (arcade, blogs, arcade etc etc )

Hi. Thanks for the speedy reply. Yes, I have done what you have suggested prior to posting here. I have checked the syntax and the spelling, etc....it's listed just as you have suggested, and yet, it's not working. Very odd. When I installed the new version, it went great. Quick, painless, no errors. I'm at a loss.
Could it be a problem with the Blog mod and/or the Site Integration mod? What I don't understand is that it wored flawlessly in version 1.0.5.
What am I doing wrong?

I did that. Yes, I read your post. I was using the "/index.php?action=" statement as an example to show Bloc that it indeed was a custom action.
Thanks,
David
Cant say what you are doing wrong, but i do know it's working fine on several sites im using my self, the one i linked to is one of them
Can you send me an admin account to your site so i can have a look at your settings ?
Send in PM if you want me to look at it.
Just looked at your site, and the panels are not visible at all for me on eather the chat or blogs as you have set in the panel setting.
So it seem to be ok now ?

No. It's okay for the chat rooms. That part is resolved. When you went to the blogs, you probably noticed the blog list was normal, no panels. But when you enter into each member's blogs...that's when the blocks come back....both left and right. The list is fine, for some reason. But the actual blogs themselves, are not.
I missunderstood you.
I added somting to the array, test and see if that was what you were after
The panels will not hide if the custom action does not exist. So if you put blogs in there, yet when you view a blog it doesn't say action=blogs in the URL, then the blocks will appear.
Installed this to my test site, it's a nice blog.
G6, looking at your site for Dennis it appears that you've been able to remove the side blocks from the member's blog page, how were you able to do so?
My simple mind thought of the joker Ken ;)
blogs=number depending on the blog, i added
blogs,blogs=*, and that worked :P
That works.
Did blogs=* work on index.php?blogs=xxx ....?
In that case its wrong lol - or rather I need refine that to allow other than action=xxx, but also yyy=xxx
Yes, infact it did work with the * sign instead of any number
Every blog have it's own number when enter anyones blog.
Like G6 have Blogs=1
Bloc blogs=2 etc etc. i added blogs=* instead and that removed the bars from inside the blogs.
The frontpage of the blogs ( where all blogs are listed ) works fine with justs bla, bla, blogs, bla bla etc
This worked in mine:
blogs,blogs=*,
However, when I check it now and remove the "blogs=*," it continues to not show the side blocks. Doing a hard refresh is not changing the outcome.
