Title: [bugtracker] Problem with URLs - TinyPortal v.1.0.6 beta 2
Post by: none on October 12, 2008, 01:23:39 PM
SMF  v.1.1.6
TinyPortal v.1.0.6 beta 2 (before 1.0.5 beta1)
Use Pretty URLs v.0.9 mod
Use MysticJade Theme

Before upgrade my links looks like: www.mysite.com/page/articlename
(index.php?page=title)

Now (after upgrade) looks like: www.mysite.com/page/2  etc...

What is wrong?
How set up TP to use textual page URLs??
(Sorry my English)

Many thanks!

Each article has an option to enter, Query title:

Once you have set a query title, you can link to it from either the, page=1 (number). Or, it's title, page=example.

Not sure where we are at with Pretty URLs as I've not been here much and need to do some catching up.

[edit]
What have you upgraded, TinyPortal or SMF?

Have you tried to resave the articles ?
Open them for edits, and just resave them and check if the links are working again

Okay.. But I have no way of knowing what you know, so we sometimes have to assume that people know nothing.  :)

Thanks your fast answers! Yes, i tired this many times (edit and resave), but not working. I deleted browser cache and pretty urls cache in my database too, but not using query title names. :( Maybee this is a 1.0.6 bug? Maybe a fix for it?  :'(

Bugs in Beta2 have a route of
1. Problem report and test diffrent things. If the test say Bug...
2. Report to bugtracker
3. Block look at it when he find the time to
4. He look at the bug, check if the bug is fixed ( and so no other bugs turn up because OF the fix )
5. Testing the fix/es a few days
6. Add to Beta3 package
7 Repease to public.

So bugs usually take all from a week to several weeks dependig on the bug itsel, how hard it will be to fix and how many other bugs that gets reported, and most important, is it a security bug it will come first and lower graded bugs will come later. This is a lower bug IF it's a bug at all.
Bugs can take some time to get fixes for. So patience is what we ask for a lot of our members using our portal.

Ok.. This failure coming up on my live site too. But this failure disturbed me very much and I did a new fresh install the on localhost.

Wamp Server 2.0 / PHP 5.2.6 / MySQL 5.0.51b / Apache 2.2.8

Just SMF and TP! I created a category, and an article quickly (I add it to become he naturally "query string" name too!!). Created a menubox block, and add a article menu link for this. And i catch this mistake again!

Article link look like this:
hxxp://localhost/index.php?page=2

But my article name, and query string name is "testarticle"!

I don't catch "hxxp://localhost/index.php?page=testarticle" link for this!

What is the problem?? This is very important for me.
Everything is fresh install, and no mods just TP!

(Sorry for my pure English.)

Looks like you've done some good testing. Perhaps you should add this to the bugtracker.
