I think the problem for user submit article is still remaining in the new version fo tp.
There is no link after set it up in member permission for submit article.
No link in user block.
I get the same thing after a little testing with SMF 1.1.6.
There used to be a link available in the user box,(that didn't work), now,...no link to submit.
You must be doing something wrong
I have checked this on 7 diffrent sites, both live newly updated and on fresh installs.
Also tsted through all diffrent membergroups with out any issues what so ever
The submit articles are precent on all of the sites in the usersblock.
See attached screenshot
Look at the users block
OK, I logged in to my test site as a new member, which puts me in the regular member group.
See attached images. No option for submit article in user box.
Have you set any post limits to the membergroups ?
Not that I can find. Although I don't see where you can change post based members permissions, or disable them.
So, as a new member, I'm in the newbie member group for post based members.
I posted 3 times to see if anything would change and I still get the same info in the user box,...no permission for submitting articles.
You can see by the attached image that I have permission to post articles.
Where else can I look?
Maybe I should just create a new group for new members and see what happens.
EDIT: Site url, http://www.graphics.foxconstruction.us/smf/index.php (http://www.graphics.foxconstruction.us/smf/index.php)
Set your forum to the SMF Default theme and then take a look at your permissions control panel:
Admin>Members>Permissions>Regular Members>TinyPortal Articles>... see what settings you have there.
Same thing. And the user box looks the same also.
At this point i have to ask you to check the two links im posting you now.
Make sure to follow them both and check both files and folders aswell as the codeedits in the SMF files.
How do I manually install TinyPortal (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=29)
Modification Instructions (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=140)
( Yes, the instructions are the same as before. )
Ok, I'll give it a try, but this is on a fresh install of SMF 1.1.6, with a fresh install of TP 1.0.5, and then the upgrade to TP 1.06. All on a new database.
And you can see my php info at: http://www.graphics.foxconstruction.us/phpinfo.php (http://www.graphics.foxconstruction.us/phpinfo.php)
And you can delete that last url if you don't need it.
Might have to wait till after my kids football game. Later today.
Hope we're getting somewhere anyway, thanks for all the help. ;D
Even with a new and fresh install that looks OK there may have been some files or edits that failed to be complete so the suggestion by G6 would be your best course at this point.
go out for a little bit from this topic.. hope give the permission.
Before this in tp 1.0.5 when users (except admin) try to submit and article
this msg appear Unable to load the 'main' template.
what must i do ,manually to resolve it like tp 1.0.6? coz now i like to use tp 1.0.5 before using 1.0.6.
tq..
Something only Bloc would know. I would suggest you just use the new beta if its that big of a deal for you.
I can't get to the docs page. Either through the link here or manually.
What do the docs have to do with what I suggested?
Nothing with what you said, G6 suggested I do a manual install and gave links to it and mod instructions in her reply.
I can't get to the pages she linked. And...I can see what the url paths are for the pages, and can't get to them typing them into my browser either.
EDIT: nvm, the pages open now and the links work.
So should I go ahead with the manual install anyway as G6 and Ken suggested?
If you go through the steps of the manual install instruction you should be able to see if all of the required files, folders and edits are in place.
For the most part they should be there, but something is missing that is causing the controls to not be there in your admin panel.
Ok, I went through the whole shebang.
I uploaded the files conatained in the package,
So, I checked all the edits as defined in the mod instructions for manual install.
I removed all the code for the 1 mod I had, AEVC,(auto embed video).
I ran the manual_install.php. It tells me everything is updated.
Nothing chaged. I even uploaded a new subs.php and edited it from scratch to make sure there was nothing leftover from the mod. All the other files already had the correct TP info added.
Checked all permissions again.
There is still no text to add article in the user box. No matter what theme I use.
I dunno? :o
Update.
A simple fix for this issue as well. You must have upload files enabled in "TinyPortal File manager", to have the option to upload an article show in the user box
Damn Bluto, you are getting to good on this now  :D
LOL, thanx G6,
