Title: "8: Undefined variable: render" and "8: Undefined index: single_page"
Post by: Arkanna on September 26, 2008, 02:02:07 PM
Hello all.

I first noticed this pair of errors yesterday because my forum became inaccessible.  Turns out the error_log entry in my forum database was larger than my webhost allows an entire database to be (100 MB!).  Emptying it via MyPHPAdmin resolved that but the error log is still getting flooded with errors.

Link to my site: http://www.legacyofold.com
SMF version: 1.1.6
TP version: 1.0.5 beta 1
Theme name and version: Omega TP, Stalker TP
Mods installed: SMF Arcade, Gallery
Related Error messages:

Quote8: Undefined variable: render

Line: 930

Quote8: Undefined index: single_page
File: /homepages/26/d198161990/htdocs/Themes/default/TPortal.template.php (eval?)
Line: 922

More detailed information:  I noticed the error log gets flooded with this pair of errors, approximately 8 times, everytime someone hits the front page.  It doesn't seem to happen when people jump straight to the forum, only when they visit the front page.  It is a game-related forum, for a certain online MMO.  I use the front page for news posts regarding my group's activities in the game.  There's no article or anything on the front page, it's just posts from a certain "Front page news" forum.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Nevermind, after I got some time at work to search more thoroughly for an answer, I found it.  It's a bug in the TP 1.0.5 beta 1 code and will be fixed in a future release.  I just disabled error logging for now.

Thanks anyway.
