Title: I cannot use the word "reset" in an article
Post by: alowell on September 25, 2008, 08:58:57 PM
I am currently trying to modify an existing article which contains the word "reset" and i get the error :
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.

This worked prior to my upating to 1.1.6

I have also noticed that if i try to create a new article  I am not allowed to use the word "reset"

Any help would be appreciated.

We don't need a file list from your server. We need to know the versions of stuff you're using, any mods, what you've done etc. This info is posted in the Posting Guidelinesl (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,581). Did you try this without an editor? I have no problem doing it on my test site.

if you go to my site and copy the page http://avendale.com/index.php?page=13 to you test server do you get the error? If you do remove the line Limited Reset v1.0 (1/6/03) - In Use At Avendale - Reset at 6am & 6pm everyday
and see if you still get the error.
I am able to recreate the page in it's entirety except for that on line.

It seemed to struggle with your list of links. However, once I viewed it in code mode, and then saved it was fine.

Ok please forgive my ignorance. Code Mode?

Please remember I inherited this web-site and I just want to get it working right.

Thank you again for any assistance.

When you are in the editor, you can click button that allows you to view the source code. I viewed it by clicking that button and hit save.

I was pretty sure that was what you meant however I tried that long before I posted on the boards, assuming it was some stray character or anomaly in the code. It is acting like the word "reset" is somehow a privileged word or restricted. To make it worse if I reword the text it still does not help because the word "reset" appears in the link  :'(

Did you try it with the other editor or no editor at all?

Yes, I tried both editors. I am not sure what you mean by no editor. However I have noticed if I use the same article as a forum post I get the same error.

I am not sure if this indicates an issue with TP, SMF or the installation as a whole.

If you wish to see how the error manifests itself ,PM me and I will create a UID and PW for you on the site.

By no editor, I mean turning off the editors. Do not use the editor to do your edits. Its an option in the TP settings on which editor you want to use, or none.

Do you have a problem entering that same info into a post?

Yes posts produce the same issue.
Someone suggested that this might be a host related issue, I a not sure because like i said this worked fine prior to the SMF update. I am looking at the security files now. I will post my findings.

If you can't in your posts as well, that would most likely point to a server/host issue.
