How exactly did your name come to be on the net? What's the story?
My name is my initials with "timewiz", which derives from "Time Wizard"; my first and last Yu-Gi-Oh! card from back in the day.
Thats my developers alias =)
ps and i do have a happyface ;D ;D ;D
I started writing poems and such in the late 60's, around 68 or 69 I think, yes yes, I am that old, :-\ I was still very young, and I needed a pen name and that is what I came up with and still use.

Stop whining about being old Rose, you're still just a kid. :)
My name is... well, my name. ;)
...maybe me should change it to something catchy.
G6Cad
G6 = G Lader 6bar car compressor ( hade a really powerful car that had one mounted and generated 300+bhp )
Cad, my first name and the first letter from my middle name
Sums up as G6Cad and now shorten to G6
SmokyBlue
named by an old mountain man, for my blue eyes..
years ago i went by LadyRed.. but when i moved from Myrtle Beach SC, to up in the mountains, and was given Smoky Blue, i changed.. ;)
Netwire was a name I made up about 10 years ago. I see it's a company name now, not sure who came up with it first though... but alas I continue to use it today.
Crip is pretty much self explanatory if you know me even a little bit -- comes from being a Cripple.. C4/5 QUAD!
Quote
Cripple~
From Wikipedia the encyclopedia
A cripple is a person or animal with a disability, particularly one who is unable to walk because of an injury or illness. The word was recorded as early as 950 AD, and derives from the Proto-Germanic krupilaz[1]. The German and Dutch words Krüppel and kreupel are cognates.
The word generally came to be regarded as pejorative when used for people, in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada during the 1960s. In other English-speaking countries, the term is still widely used without pejorative connotations. Cripple is also a transitive verb, meaning "cause a disability or inability".
1st screen name ever was { sitsalot } cuz I do.
Very simple. It's my name.
My middle name is Denise (but please don't call me that). The "JP" stands for "Just Plain" -- because I never use my last name with "Deni". It's also sort of a pun on the name of billionaire J. P. Morgan. I could pretend I was rich.
Strangly, since I'm a Metal Head, Zetan was inspired not by the alien menace known as Zetan (http://members.aol.com/SolistAvadar/Zetan-aliens.htm) but rather the Trance group, Zetan Spore (http://www.zetanspore.co.uk/). I shortened it further to ZTN because I like the shape the letters take together on the screen.
My first user name was LAB DESIGN, at the time I was a freelance graphic designer doing artwork for local dance, trance, house events, flyers, album art and logo's. The LAB stands for, Life's A Beat and went on to become LAB Radio, a heavy metal radio station. This will later return with a new domain name when I think up something suitable.. and as you all know, finding a good domain name which isn't already in use is a bit of a nightmare and I've been wracking my brain for over a week..
Phew!
tallfreek ---> came to be because 1. its origional 2. no numbers (comes along with origional) 3. i'm 6'10" and people tell me that i'm tall about 6 times a day.
lmao, thats awesome tallfreek.
search tallfreek on google. all of that is me. except one site i think, that aws a guy i pissed off who tried to get me in trouble with stuff. lol. i'm all over!! especially the 110mb forums. i used to be there all the time. 1000+ posts, over a year of inactivity, probably still top 10 posters
Bloc...pretty obvious right? :)
actually not..I didn't think of "blocks" before long after I took the name. Its in fact the norwegian variant of Ben Grimm - the Thing in fantastic Four(back in 80s, later it changed to another name). My fav magazine in my teen years. I liked the shortness of "Bloc", so it stuck with me into the net.
Fantastic Four was(is) one of my favorite comics, that and the Incredible Hulk..... Never figured Blocs name came from Ben Grimm hehe.
Omniverse was a name I created back in the early 90's. I began messing around with the WWW back then and needed my own personal monicker. I thought long and hard before coming up with it.
Omni = All encompasing
Verse = as in the universe
Yes, I was full of myself hehe. Most think my name stems from the Omniverse coined in comics, or from the actual word omniverse which didn't used to exist (before a few years ago). The comic version was before I created the name, but I wasn't aware of it, plus its not like you could search for things like that back then on the WWW.

My name!!! Grrr......
My username comes from my chinese name, its fang wei le
I don't like to use underscore so it ends up with fangweile ^_^
Mine was simply a typo that everyone thought was so original, I litterally was trying to find a good name back in the prodigy days and typed out a few, had spi on the screen thinking of one and slammed my hands on the keyboard... I apparently hit z, e, and the enter key... it wasn't taken so I just used it.
I race pigeons and the Wonga pigeon is a native Australian pigeon.
Mine was given to me at birth. I had no choice. :idiot2:
8)
'Ianedres' spurns from a BBS door game I set up ('TradeWars'?) for a ship named 'Sebron Ianedres', which just seemed to flow and sounded like a ship's name to me. It was part of a series of names I devised for naming computers and other related projects...
I also intended to name my children with some of those names, but the wife shot that down, along with 'Node 1' and 'Node 2'... so I named my pets with some of them.
Well. Mine is simple 'Anime', which I love and 'UK', where I live.
I could be funky and say something like AN Input Methd Editor...
..but I'd be lying.. :)
One day in the winter I saw a dog fall threw the ice on a lake. So I jumped in to save it. I'm not a strong swimmer so I kept falling under with the weight of the dog. But finally I managed to pull myself and the dog out. When I got out I was literally all ice. I went and gave the dog to the old woman who owned it and she started yelling at me saying I almost drowned her dog. So I grabbed it by the collar and chucked it back in the lake and told her to go get it herself! My friend looked at me and said wow that was evil! So I put the two together!
Okay so that was a lie the real reason is:
Icy is because I'm from Canada and it really is flippin' cold up here and the evil part is because the cold is evil! Plus it just became a universal name for most of my logins since I started using the internet.
Sturmkatze comes from one of my 3 original attack cats. Actually, the first WAS named A.B. for Attack Beast (they were tough cats..., but cool... I miss them). It sorta got morphed into attack cat and then on to Sturmkatze. I use it a lot. :-Þ
Thurnok
Dervied circa 1977 by myself as a Dwarf Paladin character for Dungeon & Dragons. Later, around 1980 it became my BBS handle and SysOp handle for my own BBS "Dungeon Quest". You'd be hard pressed to do a search on it and find it related to anything other than myself.

This was fun to find during the search ;D
Check the stats where it tells you the time online stats ::)

Sizzling stats there Carina. Good find, but cold-hearted... :o
Interesting enough Thurnok, I too slinked around the BBS scene in the '80s. We're telling on ourselves here, but that was a time when you really had to be involved at a much deeper level with computers in order to communicate with others. Gone are those days, but being able to read the words as they actually came across the screen was something... and when the speeds went up (1200, then 2400, then GASP! 9600!!) you could download something in under ten minutes.

hehe.. well, as much as I'd like it to be related to what your mind is thinking G6, if you did a search for sammie you'd find posts by sammie99 who is the operator of that site. I've helped her several times with a number of her sites, and spent quite a bit of time configuring that particular one which is why you see the 14 hours. :)
So get your mind out of the gutter girl! LOL
The gutter is all i have, so please dont ask me to leave from there now Thurnok :P
And besides that, why are you defending your help on the site so hard ;D
