This is the error i get when adding smilies that i have uploaded to server. I upload the smiles, go to admin>smileys adnd message icons>smiley sets>click link to add them.
database error
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LENGTH(code) DESC' at line 2
File: /home/****/***/***/Sources/ManageSmileys.php
Line: 990
from file:
// Make sure the smiley codes are still in the right order.
db_query("
ALTER TABLE {$db_prefix}smileys
line 990 is: ---> ORDER BY LENGTH(code) DESC", __FILE__, __LINE__);
what am i suppose to do. It tosses me the error but still adds the smilies...lol
**edited** I fort to mention I have SMF 1.1.5 and TP version .098 and it doesn't matter which theme I happen to be in.
You have to seek help on SMF on this question, the Smileys are a forum function.
What you can try though is to download the big upgrade package they have in the SMF download section, when you have downloaded the file, extract it on your local PC and then take out the 2 .SQL files and the upgrade.php file from it.
Upload these 3 files manually to your forum folder and point your browser to the upgrade.php and let it update your database tables.
Hopefully that will fix your issu, if not, you have to ask SMF what to do next to fix it.
Hope this helps though :)
Also, i moved this to Support as it's not a theme issue.
thanks you have been most helpful. I will try to do that.
This is a DB issue if I remember right. A search at SMF will show you what to fix. Of course, the search doesn't seem to be working over there right now... I get an error when trying to search there about not finding the search daemon...
you are more than welcome to read this smilie tut on my site: Blouogies Smilie Tut (http://www.tg.pixelbypaint.com/alpha/index.php?topic=446.msg2288#msg2288)
did you include an index.php file into the folder you uploaded? try that, it will fix the issue :coolsmiley:
i went to smf before you guys posted and found the fix for it...since the db upgrade would not work at all
