Title: TP error with TP unistalled
Post by: catahoulabulldog on July 08, 2008, 10:06:55 PM
Hi, I have been wrestling with TP errors since a server crash 2 months ago, since then I have been getting CPU overage errors daily. So, I recently upgraded TP to the latest version and crossed my fingers 2 days later it goes off again. a check of my error log shows shows this error over and over.

Quote8: Undefined index: 0
File: /home/name/public_html/Forums/Sources/TPortal.php
Line: 1490

line 1490 of the tportal.php file reads this.

Quote$context['TPortal']['current_category']=$context['TPortal']['catnames'][$row['category']];

So I have unistalled TP, the package manager shows it as un-installed, the site however does not. and I continue to see that same error.

any help is appreciated.

Please read the Posting Guidelines (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=581)

Please provide some more info on your issue according to our posting guide im link to.
When we have more info, it will be a lot easier to try and see what might be the cause of your error.
It's not always the file ( in this case TPortal.php ) that are the cause.

sorry for reaching out for help so fast but I had spent the day working/trying to fix this/watching my site crash/screaming.... but...

Ok, so now after searching more I see the articles are the common culprit, I have removed ALL articles, even those in categories ( errors still occurred with categorized articles still in place and inactive.) and it looks like my errors are gone.

I will hold out for this to also fix my CPU lockouts.

A simple undefined index is not going to be the culprit of high CPU usage. How about asking your host to give you some details on what the CPU usage is coming from? Is it from high MySQL usage? That would mean you have too many DB calls going on in your site or something. They should also define what they think is high. Along with what you're usage is, and what your limits are.
