Ty .. Yeah i did not know quite how to word a "search", but "missing text" would've been good afterall
It's in the FAQ's, The Docs and a Sticky in the Installation board..
I can't think of any other places to put it... Other that the forthcoming Docs site.
Neon lights and arrows might do it :P
Doesn't look like all your files were uploaded on the install?

This is what i had though as well, but the problem was with the language setting in the link that G6 had posted.
And to everyone else - forgive me for asking for some help in a support forum.. What [was] i thinking ???
Didnt you get the help you needed to solve your issue ?
Then i really think that last comment were uncalled for.
This is a support forum yes, but we also have guidlines for the members that NEED support.
To make this engine work well, we need to have help from both sides, YOU provide us the support we need to know ( posting guide ) and we provide the answers ( support from us )
Plain and simple.
Number7, I have also had similar issues with what I perceived as snippy comments and unhelpful replies/questions. In my case (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=23531.0), Bloc finally gave me that answer that I actually had used the search feature on.
I think the trouble is that some of the support people know so much about the system that they forget that it's often very difficult to stumble upon the right combination of words to bring up the problem you're having ... trying to mind read other people's possible explanations and then sitting there sifting through dozens of threads trying to find the one that matches yours and THEN trying to find the one or two responses in there that actually might answer the question instead of simply saying "please search" or "check the FAQs" is about 10x worse than finding the proverbial needle in a haystack.
For example, from the very thread that G6 linked:

I was looking for this problem...
I couldnt get this topic to show up on the search..
Maybe it's not that people aren't using the search, but that there is simply too much out there and they can't find it !!!
I feel your pain. I still think TP is a great system and I wish the support people, instead of acting so high and mighty, would remember that they DO volunteer for this ... if they don't like it, they don't have to do it. If they're going to do it, then the sarcasm and extra posting would be best left in their heads instead of in print as it only serves to make them appear elitist and "I can make fun of anyone I want and I won't get bashed for it cuz I have 'Support' in my title".
In particular ...
- we also have guidelines for the members that NEED support - implying that Number7 *didn't* really need support?
- Neon lights and arrows might do it - implying that Number7 is too blind/stupid to see something without them?
- Feel free to use the search and also feel free to check the doc section and the sticky topics, they wont bite you - are ya sure? well, I guess it won't bite any harder than the sarcasm from these "support" people.
End result: ***** people off by making fun of them does nothing to "support" software.
How boring ..... :2funny:
And you sir, can have a 2 weeks vacation from this site, and all you have ever done iscomplain about everything on this site.
Well, I suppose we could just be blatantly straight forward about people not following the rules? Or how about we respond like this guy does on another site that I was searching for support from?
Quotewhen we ask you to read our posting guidelines before
posting, did you think we were making a joke? pay attention
especially to the part about searching for previous such reports.
i have been on worse sites, too that if you ask for help, and you dont ask the right way, they ignore you and delete the thread.. :o
there is all kinds of shoulda coulda woulda, but remember, keeping a conversation going on this is rather pointless.. a thread, once started the right way, if you take the time to actually read bout things you are putting on your own site, you would understand better, if not, then ask the right way, so threads do not become miles long and the "searched results" arent so numerous as people are finding out... how to post.
that way the information is there, so if not them, at least someone else can help. ;)
This s**t is tiresome..
Listen.. Every support site has it's rules, opinions.. members, staff and personalities. This is the internet.. it's still newborn and half of you people, including myself are still learning. Before I ever, EVER ask any questions about any particular product I choose to use.. I read first. I'm a member of many, MANY websites that I have Never posted on.. And have no wish to.. Most of the information I need is already asked, documented.
My expertise actually lies in audio equipment and I'm a electrician by trade.. I enjoy the community here and the staff and members.. It's why I hung around in the first place.. I have other sites I frequent and have offered support to.
Now, while I do enjoy helping people where I can, in an environment that I'm also fairly new to, such as Web Design.. I really don't wish to pander to every wish, want or sugar coat every response to appease every whim.. and we see many whims. And yet, I'm still polite for the most part.. even though I have a Flamer streak and demonic side to my nature.. I'm a nice guy at heart.
So, honey.. How was your day?
