hmm now this is a good one..

guestbook.. kinda like the umm contact mod, Bloc.. where when you "sign" the book, you can leave comments, your email addy, and perhps links to other sites.

on the back end, for site owners, perhaps a permissions area for allowing the guest book comments to be shown on site..

an i right fussilet??  ;)

Yes, I know how they usually work ;)..but curious of anything specific a TP guestbook could have. I suspect a CAPTCHA and spam control is also important here.

Definatly security, also use the same member data as SMF and TP.

Spam, guest control, Hide email ( perhaps fetch this setting from the profile ? )

Permission to what groups that are allowed to post and use it ?

Will the guest book also be available for members to send there comments?
Does it have to have categories?
So basically a guestbook will store the comments/opinions for the site for the admins to see right?

take the shoutbox, rename it to "guestbook module" and there you have your guestbook! =) Aren't these two not almost the same?

This is something I'm looking for a site I'm working on just now.

My use for it would be for non-members to be able to leave a comment/message, and then be displayed elsewhere on the site - perhaps on a specific page that lists all the comments, or a block that displays either one or a rotating list of comments.

Off course the initial submitted message would have to be put on a moderation list, and not be shown elsewhere on the site until it's been approved by a moderator/admin. Anti-spam measures would also be nice, but not essential given the moderation.

I've used purpleyinguestbook (flat db guestbook) in my site and now is fine integrated with forum (but no user sync or bridge) :)
But a smf/tp mod is best ;)
