Title: Adding a custom Help page.
Post by: antechinus on June 20, 2008, 12:39:39 AM
Ok, I did try searching on this but as you can imagine the word "help" appears quite a lot on this site.

What I'd like to do is to add my own, customised help pages after the SMF and TP pages that are linked off the Help button. I know I can do something simliar with articles, etc but I'd prefer to do it this way rather than adding more clutter to the rest of the site.

Is this possible? I assume there is some way of doing it, so how about it?  ;)

If you look at the instructions for the manual install of TinyPortal, you can see that TP does exactly what you are asking for.

Yokeys, I had a look through that lot and cracked open a few files in Notepad++ and I reckon I've come up with the cunning idea. Since the TP help pages don't contain any info that is really needed (no offense to the authors and all) I can just edit the text and a few language strings and end up with just what I want without actually installing anything extra.

Cool.  :)
