Title: Re-install TP 0.9.8 with database tables still present.
Post by: othersi on May 17, 2008, 06:06:37 AM
Hi folks.

I had TP 0.9.8 installed and working well, but I've just updated my SMF to 1.1.5, and in doing so wiped out all of my modifications.

In checking my database, all of my TP tables are still present in said database (eg. smf_tp_articles ... smf_tp_blocks... etc)

As it is now, my forum behaves as though TP is non-existant, both in the forum itself, and in the admin panel,... even though all of the TP files are still sitting on my server, and the tables are still in my database.

Obviously, the reason for this is that in updating my SMF I overwrote smf files that allowed the TP to work.

My question is... how do I re-install TP so that it's functions are again available to me, while not 'overwriting' the existing database tables?

I simply want to 'reacquaint' my existing smf to TP, using the existing TP database tables etc.

Just reinstall TP 0.9.8. It won't delete the database tables. I've done this many times.

However, just to be on the safe side, make a backup of your database before you do it.

Thanks for the quick response.

Unfortunately, in trying to do so, I've got an error showing in index.template.php now.  >_<

Got it figured, my Bookmarks mod was conflicting.

I've re-installed TP and almost everything appears intact.  Just a bit of minor tweaking and I should have it back to where it used to be.

Thanks for the help JPDeni.
