Hey... i am trying to install tp v0.9.8, i use smf v1.1.5 and when i go to install 0.9.8 from the packages tab, i go to apply it and i get this error, "The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.".
It works with 1.0.5 for some reason but i get that error every time i go to install 0.9.8, and i have re downloaded it several times. help please.
Please use the search for your issue, it have been posted so many times allready, we even have what you need to know in sticky topics, and also in the doc section
k i searched for a while, i didn't really see anything that would help me fix this. are you basically saying i can't install it?
This really has been discussed many times and for many updates of SMF 1.1.*
You need to edit the TP package-info.xml file.

I must also add.. which is important.
This should not be done to all packages that do not install. There is a very good reason this file has this compatibility check. And that is to first and foremost protect your site.
When mods, themes, forum and all other things that can be installed are upgraded/updated.. files change, become obsolete or move. this check is to ensure that the author of these mods, themes or forum have been checked to make sure that they are compatible with the forum software and won't break something.
It is the job of the author to update the package-info.xml file. TP 0.9.8 probably hasn't had this file updated for SMF 1.1.5 and so we check when we upgrade our various files, packages and can with confidence suggest to you that this is what needs to be changed. Sometimes a small update/patch is applied to the forum software, the version number increments and we have this conflict.. the change often won't affect a package.
This may not always be the case and we do not suggest that this trend should continue with every package and theme.

As mentioned, edit
package-info.xml.. what I did was search for "1.1.4" and added "1.1.5" after it.
Can you give a link to the package you use when you try to run it through the package manager ?
I think you might have tried to use the manual TP package instead of the full package.

I think Bloc updated the file yesterday.. you shouldn't need to edit that file now.
Ooooh I see. I must have downloaded it before the update :)
Make sure you clear your cache before you download the file.
I ended up going straight to TP 1.0.5 beta... figured I may as well start there.
Just remember that that version OF tp is in a very early Betastage, you will have errors and you will have issues here nad there.
When you do see them and before you start ask about them, make sure that they havent been posted about allready, Search and look in the bugtracker board to see if they are submitted and the status of them.
