Title: [Needs Someone] Download Section...
Post by: newsguy on May 11, 2008, 01:33:38 AM
Hi. I'm larry from COD4-maps.com,

I am running a Joomla website right now. It's download management component is Remository (http://remository.com/). The websites main purpose is to go to and download the new maps out. I have over 400 downloadable maps, mods, and tools for Call of Duty 4. I wanna make this website all smf with tp. How do I make it so the SMF downloads section looks like the one I have on my site (http://www.cod4-maps.com/main/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=0&func=select&id=6&orderby=4). (Pictures and small info, and then when clicked on, it gives higher detail)

If you have any questions please reply as I will be sitting here refreshing.

Best way for you to go from here is to download and install SMF from simplemachines.org on a testsite, then install tp there, start investigate the options and layouts and see how it turnes out.
The best way to see what you will get and what you can do is to play with it :)

I already have...

Removed cause it went to the install.php file, not a good thing when you put in links to something  ;)

If you dont want anyone to change every settings you have, i suggest you remove the install.php from there cause the link goes directly to that file and the settings page for everything.

I been working on this for 2 months with Joomla creating a asp upload system, and I just had enough. I wanna move my site to SMF+TP, but keep a similar upload system as before....

You need to give people time to look into it. Please don't bump posts within 24 hours.

You also need to be more detailed in what it is you want.

It is a module in TP 1.0.5.. Yes, the developers, testers and staff are very busy with real life, work on TP behind the scenes and support. Suggestions are welcome, moaning about it isn't. Development takes time and the team are concentrating on the Core of TP first and foremost, so it's as easy as they can make it for you guys to use. Module development is underway.. And maybe when Bloc finds the time, he will look into giving the Download module some attention.

newsguy, bumping the topic several times a day is not going to get help for your project any faster, in fact it just may slow things down a bit.
