Title: Cannot auto install packages
Post by: dunargo on April 28, 2008, 07:15:32 PM
I got an error that is common I assume, as according to G6 I have some permissions errors... I want to try to get this fixed as it is a pain for me to do manual installs heh. I do not think my problem is with permissions as I know I have them correct, at least I am 85% positive I do. I am thinking I am stupid on the paths on the FTP. Meaning I am not even 10% sure what all info I should have there...

FTP server: Localhost     is that what it should be????
Username:                    should be my FTP info yes?
Password:                     should be my FTP info yes?
localpath:                   /Forums, which is where SMF/TP are installed.

If anyone is able to help me figure this out I will be forever grateful!!

*EDIT*

Reason I am asking for this help is I am planning on installing quite a few different mods, and the majority of them do not tell how to do a manual, what I need to edit etc....

username/password are your FTP password yes. localpath could be different depending on your host. Try ./Forums or the full path perhaps. /home/username/path/to/Forums.

Normally I get the 550 error, changing some stuff around and hitting Proceed yields no error but seems to do nothing. Any clue what that is all about?

Server configuration problem. You'll have to walk through this problem with the host so they can tell you what they are restricting on their end that prevents you from doing this.
