I had the same problem.  One of my other mods (SMF Arcade) altered the code, which is why mine failed for index.template.php

I also had the same problem. Did the editing. Now I can't make heads or tails of what it supposed to be what. To start, isn't there supposed to be a button to get to your forum? I have none...no way to get in..

I also just tried installing and got this error:

10. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/index.template.php Test failed

I went in and manually made the changes but it still looks goofed up and I also can't find any way to get to my forums. There isn't a tab or obvious way to get to it.

The edit instructions that G6 linked you to must be followed carefully and fully. The edits are easy to do but they must be followed exactly for them to work correctly.
You should follow the manual install instructions that are located in our Docs section to make sure that all of the TP files were loaded to your server during the install process.

Does it matter if mods are installed already or should TP be installed before mods? In case of conflicts?

Should not matter really when you edit the code in manually.
What you probably didnt do was to add the code in the DEFAULT theme, ALL mods installs ONLY to the default SMF Core theme. all other themes needs to eather be made for tp or you have to install TP versions of the themes.

Which TP version is best to use with 1.1.4?

I made the changes to the default theme though. But now that you say I can't use my theme I am a little bummed out. I did a ton of customized work to the theme I am using and love it. The theme started out awesome though, thanks to Crip.

I would be nice if people wouldn't hijack other peoples topics. Its too hard to keep track of who is doing what, and what is happening with each user.  I tend to ignore peoples posts when they do that.

Sorry, Do you want people to start new threads even though it is about the same thing this thread is about. Other forums get mad when you do that and tell you to search. It would be nice if when someone is brand new to a software program and they need help they weren't chastized for asking questions.

If you read our posting guidelines you'll see our reasoning behind things. I have a link in my sig. The post is also stickied at the top of the support board. Thanks!
