Title: Time out on TP install revisited
Post by: Quix on April 16, 2008, 03:00:11 AM
Well I'm in tears. Not the joy kind either.

Once again Godaddy hosting is timing out my TP package install.

Database Error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
File: /home/content/d/a/s/siteuser/html/sitename/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 2008

Although I love TP, I can't keep doing manual installs to all my sites.  Is it possible for the TP "powers that be" to get a copyright exemption to publish post TP installed SMF files from the developers?

Would seem to help both organisations.

Go to the Admin Panel. Then click on Forum Maintenance.
Backup the Forum Database immediately and then run these options-

"Optimize all tables to improve performance" and "Find and repair any errors."

Thanks for the tips Jpg. I tried those and no joy.

I had an email support war with GoDaddy that it ended with them saying the TP package install was hitting their SQL timeout limit and that's why it failed.

There was nothing they could do they said.    :(

I've tried everything I can / know and it's a no go.

I would keep a copy of a manually installed version of TP on my home computer. Then, when you have another site to start up, you can use that instead of dealing with another manual install. In fact, if you have a site that you have already installed TP on, download those files and use them.

I agree. Go Daddy is not a good host.
If you're paying for a host you might as well get a good one.
