Title: Article Problems with TP1.05
Post by: TimUSA on April 08, 2008, 05:30:13 AM
I am having some major problems. I upgraded my site to TP1.05 and was experiencing a number of problems, so i decided to go back to TP98. This caused problems as well, so I attempted to do what I have always done in the past, and reinstall the forum. Here is my problem now. I am stuck on a page that says.....

Upgrading the forum...
Don't worry, we will be back shortly with an updated forum. It will only be a minute ;).

First off you cant downgrade the install as the TP database will still be for the new version even if you replace the files, the only way to "downgrade" is if you have backups to go back to an older install.

The error however, you can manually take the forum from maintenance mode in the settings.php file thats located on the server. Change the 1 to an 0 and save the file

I have everything back to normal with a 1.05 install. This is ok and I have tested now with 3 browsers on 2 different machines. The biggest problem I am having with the new tp is that members are complaining left and right that many of the articles and links are no longer working. I of course, like a mechanic with a used car, cannot reproduce the same errors!!!

This one is being looked for by me also as i don't even see them as admin except in the admin panel. Not sure if we got this one in the bugtracker yet though

I put this in the bug tracker. The problem seems to be in custom member-groups. Able to view article as admin, guest, and regular member.

StormLrd,
Quotei don't even see them as admin except in the admin panel.
Have you put your articles into categories? With TP 1.05, every article must be in a category in order to be accessible.

There seem to be an issue for several members and articles not showing up. Bloc is looking into this to find the reason for the articles not showing up

Maybe because it already existed. I haven't upgraded my "live" site as yet, so everything I'm using is new stuff.
