How can I get TP to run on my site? I am with X10Hosting.com and all I konw about it is that I can upload files, upload zip files and extract them on the site, it uses PHP and MyQSL. That's all I know about it. How can I get TP and SMF running on there? Also, which TP version is stable? If you can hekp me, please I just want a straight forward tutorial... thats it! Just what steps I should follow to get it running. Thanks!
You dont have SMF installed either ?
Xarcell has written a great tutorial, which is available here (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=9233.0). Follow the steps there and you should have a working SMF/TP site. If there's something you don't understand or you run into a glitch, first search for something similar on this site or at the SMF site. If it really hasn't been asked before (almost everything has), post a complete description of your problem, following the posting guidelines and we'll all do what we can to help you out.

Yep, sorry... I was in a crazy mood because I couldn't get this thing going. At one point, I was about to give up but then again, its tempting to try it. Once again, sorry!
(To G6) No. The thing is that I don't understand the MySQL settings section. I know SMF works with my host because I've seen an SMF forum on a site hosted by them. But the problem I'm getting is this:
Cannot connect to the MySQL database server with the supplied data.
If you are not sure about what to type in, please contact your host.
Access denied for user 'user'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

TinyPortal v1.0.5 beta is out! Check out http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item886
You need to install the forum to your host, and how to do that you have the www.simplemachines.org
When you have sorted the install of the forum and read all the info about how to use it, how it works from their documentation site, you can come back and install TP as a mod package for SMF.
But as you are new and all, you really need to learn the basics of the forum first, and that is www.simplemachines.org s part to teach.
he has not smf software?? .. that comes 1st then TP..not the otherway around..lol..

I do have SMF software but it doesn't install. I am having problems with the "MyQSL setting" section in the installation.
SMF will help you install your Forum..we help your TP. :)
Just managed to get SMF beta 2 v3 installed onto my forum after following this tutorial:

Does this mean I can get SMF 1.1.4 installed the same way?
YES :)
Yes, it should be the very same and smaller.
If you have installed 2.0 you wont be able to use TP as TP doesent work with that version of SMF
I typed the url to where you get support for the forum part twice in my last topic.
Browse there, get the help you need, we do not support SMF here, we support a MOD made for SMF 1.1.4 and not SMF 2.0
Reb :)
We can / should mark this solved, then lock it down.. imo
Crip :)
Marked solved as we have done what we can from our part until you have made the SMF install.
And locked as we cant do any further support until you fixed part one :D
