Title: [bugtracker] TP 1 ( I think I found a bug ) where do I report it
Post by: garry on April 02, 2008, 12:00:48 AM
This is the sequence I followed

I added a new lower block

a news block

and this is showing

when I click on the " Go to visible options " link

it takes me to the news page

and also when I am in the " Panels and blocks " screen

when I click the little red circle  ( which in the left and right blocks takes me to the screen that lets me decide where to show the block )

It also takes me to the news screen

What is the bug. You must go there and select where you want the block to show

I now have a bottom block and a lower block

the bottom block worked the way it was supposed to when I clicked the littel red circle and it took me to the right screen to decide where to show it

This one is a search block

and I told it to show in 2 ( pre existing articles  )

(my featured page and another page )

the block is not showing up in either page

Beta software in it's first stage, prepare for bugs, there will be several of them, and as you are beta testers as soon as you install a new version you report bugs you think you have or DO have.

We urge you to play with it on a testsite before you use it on a live forum, there are a lot of changes and a whole lot of layout changes, so it will take quite some time to learn how to use TP this time.
Especially if you are familiar with TP V098.
So play with ll settings possible, read the setup options, test how it looks, and try and "see" how you want your site to look like before you add in blocks or articles.

To answer the question, look in the menu ontop of the site, "Bugtracker" is the correct place to add bugs you find :)

Thank you Block and G6

I am aware this is beta software and I do have it on a play site.

Two quick question though

where are the " read the setup options, " that you spoke of  as I have seen nothing in the line of reading material.

and

the second block I installed  , which was a bottom block

It worked the way it was supposed to ( in setting the options )  but it doesnt show up on the article where I told it to show .

This was a pre existing article before the new installation of TP1  ( should that matter )

Is this another problem or have I done something incorectly

The read me and documentation is in the works and should be opend up as soon as possible, dont really know the status on the doc site and think Xarcell can answer that question a lot better them  me.

Cant say if you have done something wrong with the block inside an article, you didnt provide a lot of info on what you HAVE done or tried, how and whenre you have linked it.
Screenshots will help a lot.

I understand what you mean about screen shots helping so I googled screen shots as my program is cumbersome and this is what I found.

If you use fire fox its an add in and is it ever slick

post your screenshot online and gives you a link to it

well worth checking out and some of your members may like it also

I could give you a screen shot of the page but there is nothing there to see other than my page

because the blocks aren't showing up

Those articles..do all of them have their own visible options to show left/right/center/upper etc. panels turned on? Remember you can turn off panels in those and it will not render blocks at all then.

Thank You Bloc

I never thought about checking that after I set it from the other screen

I would like to ask you something though

the show all articles in the same catagory function from the old TP showed the article menu on the side of the article , which took up screen real estate.

your new drop down menu and the next and previous article ( as I call them ) is a real nice improvement.

I was wondering if it could be at the top of the article as opposed to the bottom of the article and the reason are following

in example

my first article will might never change and people would have to go through the same procedure each time .

What would be nice would be if you could choose when you turn it on as to weather it would be at the top or bottom

But that is the opinion of a truck driver and not a programer and I quite recognise that you may have a reason as to why it is at the bottom

And thank you very much for the new TP . It looks very exciting

and your April Fools joke was a good one  .

I nearly craped my drawers as I thought it was a virus that had poped up

good joke

I havent been caught on an April fools joke for a long time
