Well I guess the subject kind of sums it all. While I seem to be downloading the zip file, I get a file with '0' bytes. When I try to upload the file with Package manager I get, "The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted."
I'd really like to give TP a try as I love the idea of having a Portal system.
Any help/suggestions welcome.

Nope! You have an excellent point as I use Firefox. I'll fire up IE7 and give it at try IchBin, thank you for your suggestion and I'll let you know how I come out.

If the cache and temp internet files havent been cleared in the browser for some time, this issue will be there until everything is cleaned out.
Try and make a "spring cleaning" in your browser and restart it, try and download again.
Humm! very strange. Did all of the above and still get '0' bytes in the file that is downloaded. What is really funny is that I can download all the files here except TP and TP Manual install. Both return '0' bytes and when trying to open them I get the "corrupt file" warning. Also, tried to dionload on one of my other computers. I have and old '98 machine that I'll fire up tonigh and give it a try.

OK, I guess we can mark this on solved. Well, almost! First let me qualify this a little more. All three of my XP machines would not allow me to download the TP files. All three are basically set up the same as I like things that way. So, that means that all three have the same Norton firewall and AV. All three also have all the latest windoz updates and are configured the same.
So. I have a little Toshiba that I use with my Vinyl Graphics business making magnetic signs for contractors. This computer is setup with Win98 as the drivers in '98 allow me to plot larger graphics than XP.
I was able to download the TP zip with the '98 machine and then email it as an attachment to myself. WinRAR was then able to open the file and allow me to inspect the contents. All intact.
For all intents and purposes, I feel that my problem has to do with the why my XP machines are configured, AV'ed, and fire walled and my problem had nothing to do with Tiny Portal and the files I had been trying to download as I could open the zip after I email it to myself on my XP machines.

Glad you got it at least. lol I've said this before, and people don't believe me. Firewalls and Anti-virus affect your connection. Whether it be the way it filters it or whatever, I've seen it happen. Try disabling your AV and Firewall to see if it works temporarily.
Yeah I know what you mean IchBin. It's somewhere deeply embeded in Norton as the '98 machine has not protection at all. It's only used for business needs. I work all day helping businesses with there internet problems and use this trick all the time to get around a fire walled machine. Humm! maybe I shouldn't post that - Ah! Why not, it may help someone someday in a real pinch.

Yes. I have tried browser IE 6.0 instead browser Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.11 and i have downloaded TP 0.98 core files.

Oleg, your next step would be to turn off all firewalls and AV protection. Just remember to turn it back on as soon as your finished trying the download. If that fails then log in on another computer with a different operating system. If that works then download a copy to the desk top and then email yourself attaching the file to the email. That way you will get a clean zip file you can save on your regular computer.
My problem is with my A/V and Fire wall programs along with the way my network is configured. If I tried to find the problem it would take me more time than to just work around the problem.

I have not any firewall installed on my computer.
"My" antivirus is Symantec Antivirus 10.1 (due to common corporate rules) and it doesn't matter when downloading anything.

Perhaps using another network (i.e. library, home, cafe hotspot) to put file(s) on a USB drive or emailing them to yourself at the SMF location would work... then you can at least obtain the necessary files and let your corporate network's AV check the file as you place it on your installation via email or the USB drive...
Oleg as Ianedres said. Your best bet is to use a computer at a different location and not the corporate system. Also on the corporate system your going to need Admin status and access to the hard drives. I suspect they have there system like our system where I work. If you can find an older computer in house that would be the best place to start. Look for a computer hat has Win98 or 2000 and you should be able to download on that system. However, there are many places that you can download from, as stated above. If you have WiFi on a laptop then you can try searching for an open hotspot in your area and download from there.

The problem is solved...
But i think that the reason was a proxy server with aggressive cache policy between my computer and server www.tinyportal.co.uk.
I had a guest status when accessing this link http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=get745 at first time.
Resetting the Router/Modem has been known to work for some people.
