Was trying to move www.foroadventista.com over to a VPS on 1and1.
We can not get it up, was informed by the person who has done the transfer that it is because tinyportal.co.uk is messing it up.
SO AM thinking, is there a solution for this? The forum has been down for a few days now..
ANY ideas?
Thanks
If you can't tell us what is wrong, then we can't tell you what to fix.

I used 1and1 for a long while and it worked OK until I switched my site from all HTML pages over to using SMF/TP. My connection/downtime issues kept getting worse until it reached a point where the 1and1 support people abandoned me and would not even answer my help requests.
Changed to another host and my troubles were gone. No more connection issues, no more unanswered help requests.
Good luck with your service with them, but you may want to do some research on 'oversellers'
You are right about 1and1 and their support and overselling..
the problem I have right now, is that it says i have install tinyportal and it is not there.. in my log of errors I am getting this
Apply Filter: Only show the error messages of this URL http://foroadventista.com/index.php?action=packages;sa=install2;package=TP_0983.zip
Apply Filter: Only show the errors with the same message
512: package_flush_cache(): some files are still not writable
File: /var/www/vhosts/foroadventista.info/httpdocs/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 1905
AND when I go to uninstall TP is does not see it..
They should not allow some people, like me, to use a keyboard :)
Thoughts?
IS there a folder missing? or one that should be 777'ed?
When i install TP everything passes the test.... when i go to uninstall it can not find the files
If TP does not install properly right away with the package manager you'll need to go the manual install route. Details are in the Docs board on how to do so.
i see
Download Manager
Articles
and Block
But no manual install..
hmmm when i go to restart the forum, it takes me right to the front page..
IS there another way to reboot the forum?
Manual install means doesn't mean you'll find a link in your admin panel to install. It means you'll have to manually upload the files, run the database script, and then make some edits to some files to make it all work. There's no way to reboot the forum, clicking on the link is what you're supposed to do.
