need help...trying to find out how to set up a web-site and forum for WOW.
I have a site that I looked at and it said it was powered by Tiny Portal. I have no idea how to get started. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
you want to a run a "clan" website which will utilize both Tiny Portal and SMF?
Is this paid or free work?
I would probably want to start out with something free or cheap...just until I get things in order (with a guild and the forums) and then pay to have it improved on.
okay. it is not hard what you will have to do first is install smf forums and then download the tp 0/98 i believe version or what current is out at the moment. and install that as a mod.
for example how hard and expensive would it be to get something like http://protectorates.net/index.php?action=forum
set up..just to start with and then I would want to be much more elaborate. with the actual web page a little later
right. that would not be difficult at all. i have developed many sites that are like that. on the main page there with out the ?action=forums is just using blocks from tiny portal.
price will depend on who you get to do it if you do not do it yourself.
I'm very computer illiterate myself. If you do things such as this how much would it cost me to have you set it up,(the basic one like I showed you) if I have you do the elaborate work later on as well? I would need to get a server or domain first i suppose...but like I said computers is not my thing at all.
server/domain will range about 20-40$ for the first month after that it is roughly 20-30$/month
myself, it would depend where you are located and how you would pay. I am in the process of setting up some stuff. my first question i would have to ask is, is this a private WoW server or a WoW server connected to blizzard?

Generally we offer only FREE support and advice here on TinyPortal and you are welcome to ask for help on any question you may need to have answered about TP, how to install it or how to use it.
