I talked to an administrator that she said that if something hasnt been responded to, to bump it up. How do I do that?
respond to your own post, but not within 24hrs it is not etiquette :)
Ok as I reread the rules I may have broken them I dont know. I posted a reply / question on a question someone already had. I was hoping for a reply but never got one. I think I did something wrong, so I created a new topic. I mentioned in the email that I posted my question somewhere esle so it was locked. What do I do now?
Where are you doing this? Is this on another site? Shouldn't you be asking someone at that site?
No on this site, he crosspost the same question so i locked the new one and asked him to stay with his older topic, but he clames that he didnt get any answers there and it was now old.
I told him in PM to bump the old one and wait for an answer, and he created this topic instead asking about the bump.
Ban them ..... :P
Easy now Crip, it's not easy for everyone to understand everything ...
I created this topic because I am still trying to understand the rules, and clarify if I did something wrong when I asked a question with in a question on this thread.. not site.
Sorry I am fairly new to posting on forums, even though I have been doing web stuff for a while.

I am not trying to break any rules, I am not trying to make any waves I just want to figure out where to go now.
1. On that forum where I posted a question with in the question of that thread do I now send another post then?
2. I realize now I should have referenced that posting on the second post to avoid confusion.
I am sorry.. Just tell me what to do now.
shawnlg, there is a link in my signature that will take you to the posting guidelines. Take a read and get to know the guidelines. To answer your question, yes post again in the original topic that you started. Thanks.
I reread that after I made the post. I realize I probably made an error. Once I made the error I just didnt know how to fix it.
What you are saying then is go back to the very first post where I posted on someone esles question and resubmit anothe question. Is that what I understand you saying? Sorry a little slow with this kind of stuff and need carification.

j/Kidding .. :D
NP I am just learning.. Guess I need to go read forums for dumies.. :-\
At least you're asking and not going on the defensive. That's almost always a sure-fire route to spending more time arguing... which, at times, can be humorous (from my 'outsider' perspective) to read.
<suckup>
Reading the guidelines, searching for a solution before asking, and just sheer patience yields the best results... the TP staff are very knowledgeable and willing to help- but they volunteer their assistance and usually resolve problems quickly.

shawnlg, I'm unsure of your situation and what G6 had said to you. So here's a general guideline.
1. Always search first. if you can't find an answer then post a topic.
2. I personally would indicate that I had searched in my topic, and I would also show which key words I had used to search.
3. Start your own topic for your own questions. Even if they are they seem to be the same question. Reference the topic that is similar in your new topic. Use the guidelines to post your topic and give the proper information.
Thats the basics of it. If you posted a question in another topic, I would start your own topic if you can't find your answer in a search or in reading our Docs/FAQ.
They are very helpful and usually very quick that is why I thought I did something wrong.
The problem came in when I didnt reference where I posted, so I think she thought I was posting an original thread twice. Instead I was just commenting on another thread.
So knowing the new infomation do we want to reopen the original thread? Do you want me to open up a brand new one and start over or should I just rely on that link I just sent over to get an answer. I dont care.
I know what I should have done now. I still dont know how to fix my current situation.
I got a responce. Thank you! You can close this.
With 113 posts to date, you seem quite familar with TinyPortal.net.
If you look I have only posted on a few forums a whole bunch of times. The problem is that I didn't take a closer look at the rules. iIt was my fault I own it. gees
What he said was actually meant as a comment shawn. At least, thats the way I took it. No harm, no foul. Continue on! :)
Sorry a little on the edge lately.
hehe np . Just keep in mind things sometimes look different reading it on a screen than they were intended. The reason being they lack the true emotions you see/feel when you actually are talking to someone. You will get the hang of things. Good luck to ya. Tick
