Hi,
I have been trying to play with the theme and try changing the logos but having diffuculty to find the color codes for reference links especially on user area on right top of the site.
Where are the colors defined ? I see that there are two colors. Black for text and light blue for links.
Colors and styles are defined in /Themes/[theme]/style.css
Thanks. I know that but could not find where exactly it is..
if you can find out where your theme is on your ftp or cpannel, you need to open it up and look for this file --> style.css
this is where the colors to font etc., stay.. you can tell by the numbers. they look like this--> #660000 and to change them, here is 2 good links to help you in your quest:
http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html
and here:
http://www.december.com/html/spec/color1.html
or you can google for hex numbers to find more colors. good luck! ;)
always back up your file before replacing. that way if you dont like the changes, you still have a backup :D
Smoky, thanks for the reply but as I told before I know a bit about the style.css file but cant find out the color code for the link below cause there is nothing like that in style.css
If you visit my site you will see that login (giriş yapın) and register (üye olun) links (both on top right) are very close to background color. That is what I want to change but inside the source code there is no color code. Neither there is in style.css or I can not find it.
<div id="usertop">Merhaba, <b>Ziyaretçi</b>.
Lütfen <a href="http://www.mazdaclubtr.com/forum/index.php?action=login">giriş yapın</a>
veya <a href="http://www.mazdaclubtr.com/forum/index.php?action=register">üye olun</a>.<br />
Found out that putting
#user
{
color: white;
to style.css changes the "Hey, MazdaClubTR, 0 are new" text color to white but still cant find how to change the color of links.
MazdaClubTR, I would HIGHLY recommend (if you use Firefox), to download and install the firebug extension. You can use this extension to highlight certain parts of the page and it will tell you exactly what class or html is setting attributes for all the elements on your page. If you still need help, post back and I'll take a look when I get home. Don't have all the tools to check it out here at work.
Yes I do use Firefox :) Thanks for the hint. It is 23.00 here and got to go now. Tomorrow when I get to work I will install that and see if I can find anything. If not I will write back..
IchBin, with firebug it took only a few minutes to find what I am looking for.
The parts I am looking for was ;
a:link
{
color: #476C8E;
text-decoration: none;
}
and
a:visited
{
color: #476C8E;
text-decoration: none;
}
But these color codes affect all of the site, is it possible to assign a different link color to usertop and userarea ?
There sure is! See the code below to reflect the changes you need to add. You can add these classes to the style.css file so that it doesn't change all of the links, only the ones in the #user ID.
#user a:link
{
color: #476C8E;
text-decoration: none;
}
and
#user a:visited
{
color: #476C8E;
text-decoration: none;
}
Thanks IchBin. Will try them in the morning ;)
Works perfect, Thanks IchBin :)
(status changed to solved)
